Came to Richmond to visit a friend and stopped here for lunch. Nice historic building with great 2nd floor. Had leisurely good lunch - yummy pretzel appetizer(brushed in butter, oh my) and Caesar with Shrimp, nicely dressed. Would come again!

Max's on Broad served 9 of us during restaurant week. We gathered at the bar, had a cocktail, and then went to our table. It was early in the evening as we were going to the theatre. Menu has great options especially for restaurant week,...More

Good outdoor seating is hard to come by in Richmond and it's location on a newly lively corner with the superb Maggie Walker statue does draw one to try Max's, at least for el fresco dining, but not much else. Also a good spot for...More

I first visited Max's for lunch with co-workers on Thursday. All three of us were extremely impressed with the service, the quality of the food, and the quantity. So after reviewing the dinner menu before leaving I decided to take the wife to dinner last...More

My husband and I ate at Max's on a Saturday night and service was excellent. Food was good though my entrée was a disappointment. We had the escargot appetizer with toast points and it was one of the best escargot dishes I've had in the...More

My food was quite good minus the overcooked fish of the day (amber jack). I come from the beach so I suppose I should have expected as much but given that it was $30, it should have been cooked correctly. Minus 1 star. Additionally the...More

I read several reviews before making a reservation here and some commented on uppity staff. Couldn't be farther from truth. Waiter was great and had excellent suggestions and manager came by with a complimentary app of frog legs! Not my fav but great place for...More

We order apps which are quite filling...and the bread and dipping sauce is AMAZING!!! If they freely order without regards to price...probably 20-35 per person-menu is online!
