It's unfortunate that the blackened corvina that I ordered as an entrée was so abysmal. It was drowning in oil and so salty that I could not finish it. I may have just been unlucky in my choice, since ny husband was very pleased with the ribs that he ordered. The service was great, but given my bad experience with... More

After getting turned away at some 'soul food' establishment, we came to Tarrant's Café with my family of six. The staff were wonderful! This place was busy too, but the reception and atmosphere made the wait worth it. The menu is manageably comprehensive. Good luck selecting your meal. Everything we ordered was scrumptious and I hope my brother (who picked... More

We had a cozy late lunch on a snowy January Saturday. We were welcomed in and sat in a nice booth. We enjoyed the garlic bread, the tortilla soup, interesting and quite tasty sweet potato fries and the chicken melt. All well prepared and wonderful. A definite lunch stop while in Richmond.

Had lunch last week at tarrants cafe. She crab soup is outstanding! Has just a taste of sherry that adds extra flavors. Sandwich was a avacodo BLT. Great combination! Reasonable prices!

As subscribers to VA Rep, we regularly eat dinner in the area. Tarrants is one of our favorite places. The service is always excellent and the food reliable--between good and great. I usually have the crab cakes which are always excellent. Generous portions, great wait staff.

I recently dined at Tarrant's Cafe with friends before enjoying a show across the street at the VA Rep Theater (bonus points for free valet service for restaurant AND theater parking - a huge help!). There were three of us in our party, all women in our mid-thirties. Tarrant's has been on my list of "musts" for a while, so... More

Our party of four was seated promptly at a cozy table, luckily we aren't big people because cozy is a euphemism. We ordered drinks and appetizers. I ordered a featured cocktail made with rye whiskey. It was a good recipe. The shrimp and grits appetizer was excellent, as was the she crab soup. The salads were crisp, but we'd never... More

We enjoyed our evening at Tarrant's Cafe. The restaurant was dimly lit, which is perfect for dinner. The hostess attempted to seat 5 of us in a small booth, but when we asked for a larger table, she did accommodate us by seating us in a larger booth. It puzzled me regarding her thought process of seating all 5 of... More

The food was delicious, decent sized portions. The wait staff was very helpful. Parking was not great, but doesn't seem to be anywhere in Richmond. We had a good quality, enjoyable meal in a friendly and lively environment.

Food was ok. Wait staff attentative. Sadly the cook s day was not good. Rate this place not worth waiting 2 1/2 hours on our reserved table and meal a bust.
