On 13 Feb Albert prepared rabbit like we've never tasted before. It was thoroughly enjoyable. Bear in mind that it's likely to be served resembling what it is, rather like having a whole chicken for Sunday lunch. Prior to the rabbit, we enjoyed a Maltese platter. Try it.

First of all....this is not a restaurant to go for a quick dinner but its a type of restaurant where you would go for a chilling and enjoyable night. Bertu (the owner) is a really nice chap and he helps you with all the choices. The food is definitely fresh and cooked to order (therefore do not expect freshly cooked... More

We were looking for authentic Maltese cuisine, but we didn't want to take the half an hour bus ride back to Valletta from St. Paul's Bay, so we found this restaurant on trip advisor. It sounded like exactly what we were looking for, and indeed it was. No bigger than a minute, they may seat a maximum of 24 people.... More

IF you like Maltese style cooking this is the place to go. Menu is very small but every single item on the menu is an absolute gem.The steamed beef, the bragioli and the rabbit are all top notch really. Would be wise to call Albert the chef and the owner to book not to be disappointed as place is small... More

We went to the restaurant ... and it is a hidden gem. The menu is all fresh and genuine. This is Maltese cooking in home made style. It is a must visit for everyone, both Maltese and Non.

We decided to go for meats at Ta'Bertu yesterday....starting with the maltese style slow cooked rabbit, bragioli and laham fuq il-fwar. They were just excellent! Finishing off with his own imqaret and rikotta kannoli....amazing. The best maltese restaurant by far. Keep it up Albert and hope to visit you again very soon.

Yet again we found ourselves extremely satisfied by the fantastic meals we had with friends at Ta Bertu. The sumptuous rib eye and the mouth watering oven baked calamari are to die for, not to mention the amazing ravioli and seafood starters. Ta Bertu's ricotta filled cannoli and traditional Maltese date filled mqaret finished off the meal perfectly. Bertu is... More

Ta Bertu is a one man show which is a total recommendation. The food was glorious. The environment was welcoming, warm and cosy. The approach was friendly and sincere. A gem in the Maltese Islands

Having discovered this wonderful - and unique - restaurant on our last visit to Malta 2 years ago we immediately made a return visit. Booking is essential as we discovered when we arrived and learned to our disappointment that the whole restaurant was booked for the evening. We immediately booked for the following night when we chose the bragioli and... More
