I was traveling with my teenage son and daughter, and we wanted a good, clean hotel not too far from downtown Boston, but far enough to ease the price a little. We could not have found a better spot! After spending the day at the Museum of Fine Arts, and then walking the Battle Road between Concord and Lexington, the... More

We'd been to the Colonial Inn before on occasion and had found it to be just OK. We'd heard that there had been a recent change in ownership and that the restaurants had improved, so we decided to go there for the Christmas dinner buffet. We were not disappointed. As an old, historic building, the Inn has a warren of... More

One of our go to restaurants. We generally eat in the Forge Room in back with the fireplace and a nice bar. They have done a nice job with the remodel, keeping the Colonial feel, but sprucing it up quite a bit. The menu is a good mix of new and standby.

This place has been fleecing guests and visitors for 50 years that I've watched it. My company used it for training -- horror show. Good for business breakfast if $$ no object. Otherwise, move on. They should.

Live in nearby Waltham and have been here a few times, but just found The Forge today for a very late afternoon for lunch. Warm and cozy pub.,Nicely lit for Christmas and a fire to boot. The burger was the best I have had in a very long time, cooked to perfection with a melt-in-your mouth bun. The 2 others... More

Servers are young and don't seem to care about answering your questions about the food. The chairs are very close when your seated on the porch. Poor guy next to us must have bumped his leg on my chair 10 times. Not fun for the customers. I will say we had a chance to watch the people traffic while waiting... More

I've always loved Concord. It's an essential part of American history (along with nearby Lexington), and it has many interesting places to visit, including house museums and quaint shops. As a result, it always brings in lots of tourists. The Colonial Inn is a part of that history-- it goes back to the 1700s. More than just a hotel, it's... More

This is a very traditional place to have Thanksgiving. Just this year the Colonial turned 300 year old. So it was started less than 100 years after the pilgrims landed in Plymouth. Definitely a popular place, with a warren of dining rooms and waiting rooms, along with a tavern. We enjoyed it -- and the food was delicious. Actually, everything... More
