If you want delicious, fresh bread, this is the place. It's a bakery and a sandwich shop and an eatery with great local atmosphere. Sit outside in the summer and watch the river go by. Sit inside in the winter and enjoy the cacophony of locals debating local politics. Prices are reasonable for what you get (ie: a lot), and... More

Parking is a challenge, it is next to a gas station/garage. Bread is excellent, wonderful view in the back- you can take a nice walk afterwards. Some seating for kids with books & games, etc. Worth the trip! We just order 2 sandwich plates & split it with the kids.

The bakery is tucked in an old brick building near a Gas station in West Concord. Its specialty is the slow rising Sour Dough bread. The hall has often local artists' work on display. They have offered free wifi for a long time, it is a good gathering place for friends and colleagues. In addition to a large selection of... More

Dirty facility, arrogant staff, always seems like they're doing you a favor. It's too bad because it could be so much better than what it is. It's the epitome of what it means to be American. In Europe this place would be out of business in a week.

Reliable bet for lunch in this area. I warn you that it is a little difficult to find, as it is set back behind what appears to be some type of garage/warehouse/industrial building. Also, I could see parking being slim during a peak time. My husband waited in the car while I ran in and asked where we were permitted... More

I have been coming here for approximately fifteen years. The bread has always been great, as are the frozen quiches. And the atmosphere is great too, with interesting artwork, couches, and a view of the river. What has always turned me off is the quality of the service. I don't like to generalize but after fifteen years I observe a... More

Dropped in on a weekday to have lunch with two friends. A busy and popular place! Each of us was very happy with the sandwiches we had: one a chicken salad with things like cranberries (the little dried ones, or bits of them), and I think chopped nuts; the other a classic ham 'n swiss; and the daily special, a... We go there very often and this place never disappoints. Fantastic selection of breads, sandwiches, soups and pastries. Always fresh, a real local gem!

I had the ham egg and Swiss croissant and it was delicious! I'm glad I read the other reviews to find the best parking spot.

This looks like a bakery that expanded into a cafe given that it is in an industrial error, hidden behind a gas station. But it is good enough that people find it and keep it busy. Today there were 10 people in line at 3pm. It has mainly sandwiches, soups, and baked goods, with a few other foods that can... More
