Staying locally at a nearby campsite we were looking for a good value, well cooked Sunday Lunch and we found it at the Foundry Arms. Delicious roast beef dinner , with plenty of veg, complimentary cauliflower cheese, home made yorkshie pudding and potatoes. Lashings of gravy! It was all hot and very tasty. The staff were all very welcoming with lots of check backs and seemed to be genuinely wanting to please. Will certainly be returning.

Amazing country pub which was super friendly and welcoming. The menu was broad with lots of choices for all tastes including g homemade pies and burgers, super-fresh fish dishes which melted as you ate them and large homemade pizzas with many choices of toppings. All of it was reasonably priced too. Dog friendly in all areas we visited and the staff could not have been more welcoming or helpful. Nothing seemed too much trouble for them. Would highly recommend the place and choose the chunky chips! They have to be seen to be believed. A fabulous pub , thank you

We've stayed at Northrepps several times now and have never been disappointed having meals at The Foundry. It's so friendly with a good menu, we had dinner there on 3 consecutive days, the food is really good at very reasonable prices. Lovely landlords that you can have a good laugh with, other staff really good. Beware we will be back.

The atmosphere and staff are lovely, but the food didn't meet expectations. We were seated quickly by a friendly waitress who looked after us well all evening. The interior has soft lighting and tidy table settings. It wasn't noisy, even when it was very busy as we left. Sadly, the food was only okay. Perhaps we ordered the wrong things. The chunky chips were lovely but the seafood platter was depressing, especially for the price-tag, and it would have been nice to have less on there of better quality rather than a large platter that felt like it could have been purchased at a local supermarket. The chili was okay, but definitely not one to return for. The kids pizza also seemed pulled straight from a freezer. Kids chips were brought out with no ketchup or questions about if they wanted any, but when we asked it was brought out quickly. The desert was also a mixed bag. The creme brulé was lovely, but with no vanilla. The vanilla cheesecake also had no vanilla, and oddly no sugar, so I think the kitchen had a small hiccup and just forgot to add it. The kids had 2 regular Magnum ice creams which were brought out without serviettes or bowls so we had to ask for some. All in all a place we wouldn't return to, but just because the food quality didn't match up with the price tag. Atmosphere and staff were lovely.

Hello again 🙂 I'm so sorry you were so disappointed with your meals. I was the friendly waitress that served you, put a birthday banner up for your son's birthday and checked on you during your meal to make sure you were happy with everything. It's very disappointing that you didn't mention, when asked if everything was ok, that it was not. Had you mentioned it I would certainly have rectified the situation by offering you an alternative. I have to add we have never had a bad review about our seafood platters, desserts or been asked for bowls in order for children to eat a magnum. Having said that, we always thank our customers for feedback be it positive or negative. I'm sorry you won't be returning as it's always a pleasure to welcome people back and am genuinely disappointed if you left unhappy with your visit. That obviously is not our intention. Kind regards Sarah 🙂

The best pub we've been to for ages. Good beer, good food and a great atmosphere. We had previously been here two years ago and it was good then, but better now. The pub itself is divided into three areas. A restaurant at one end, which is the only area that dogs are not allowed. A central bar area which has high chairs and tables so that everyone is at the same height regardless of whether they are sitting or standing. This definitely adds to the atmosphere as it encourages conversation and interaction. The other end is laid out in a more conventional manner and most nights seemed to be full of people eating accompanied by their furry friends. The choice of drinks was good, including a selection of excellent real ales. The food was very good with generous portions and reasonable prices. The staff were very efficient and friendly, nothing seemed to be too much trouble. The clientele appeared to be a mixture of holiday makers, like us, and a very friendly bunch of locals who were most welcoming. The owners, Sarah and Jason, should be commended on what they have achieved here. We will definitely be returning whenever we are in the area and would absolutely recommend checking out the Foundry Arms, even though it is a little off the beaten track. (It is signposted on the main road.)

What a lovely place with the friendliest of staff. We arrived without booking on a Monday night thinking it might not be very busy. How wrong were we. Obviously a very popular choice as it was very busy. No problem for the staff though, they found us a table and advised there might be a bit of a wait. We were fine with that. Even though they had quite a full dining room they still took the time to check on us and keep us updated while we were waiting, even telling us what dishes they were bringing out for other tables so we could get a peek how good the food was. We were not disappointed at all. Lovely food, well presented and at a fair price. Couldn’t be happier. What a lovely ending to our first day visiting the area. Sorry I didn’t take any pictures, I was enjoying the food so much.

If ever there was a pub to go to on a very dark, cold night in October in Norfolk then look no further. It is everything a pub, in my books, should be. Welcoming, warm, friendly, exceptionally clean everywhere, great beers or other depending on your wants, great food when it’s being provided ( be warned, this time of the year NOT all pubs have their kitchens open with extra staff due demand & costs. I expect it’s the same across the country ! ) Anyway, where were we, oh yes, this delightful pub, As you walk in you are met by a wave of smiles, hello's and other greetings, even a little dog came up and said ‘ woof’ 🤗 from the early doors drinkers all huddled around the bar, drinking, chatting, laughing,, making strangers like me feel very welcome almost like a regular, perched happily upon their bar stools of which there are plenty and around the bar too ! I’m betting these lovely people sit on the same bar stool in the same position every time ? Very sadly and to my loss I am not, well, not at the moment, a regular but that no doubt will change. I live not too far away so absolutely no excuse not to call in and yes, now I’m an old man I prefer early doors myself. Not always been like that as in my younger years, when once married, pre kids, we didn’t leave our house until around 10 - 10:30 for my local only to still be there, @ 3 / 4 am the next day 🤗 Reason …:. could never get the bloody front door to open as it used to stick badly, especially this time of the year 😏. Think you can guess by now the Foundry Arms is a dammed fine pub and location to eat both summer & winter. It has many of the excellent qualities I look for, sadly not all pubs do that, this one does and some ! It’s a proper pub, offering proper everything in a proper way. It’s a very genuine pub, run in a proper way, it has the highest accolade in that it’s quite simply ‘ proper Norfolk 👍’.

We had Sunday lunch, and the food was delicious. It all felt and tasted very fresh. The pub itself is a warm and cosy family and dog friendly pub, and has a good atmosphere. I would definitely visit again. The two downsides for me were the very small and limited car parking area, where people had just dumped their cars willy nilly, making it awkward for us as one of our party is a blue badge user. Secondly, it would be nice to have an allocated server and not whoever was three. This would stop confusion about who ordered what, have the drinks been ordered, is the desert menu coming, etc.

Thank you for taking the time to review us. We're glad you enjoyed your meals and ambience of our lovely country pub. You mention having a designated server. That wouldn't be manageable here I'm afraid. Big chains can operate like that, we, as I mentioned are a country pub. The carpark is a decent size and we obviously cannot control how customers park their vehicles. We look forward to seeing you again and appreciate your feedback 😊

We wanted to go for Sunday lunch but were concerned if we went near the end of service that we wouldn’t be able to have a choice of what we wanted. Contacted the pub to ask if choice may be limited at the end of service, they said probably not but if we wanted to be sure we could pre order and they emailed us the menu so we could choose. This was above and beyond. Very impressed. When we went to the pub we received a very warm welcome and the service was amazing. Nothing was too much trouble, my daughter only wanted two of the veg that was on offer, even though it was all mixed together, the chef went to the effort of separating out the veg she would like so that it was perfect for her, again, above and beyond. The food was delicious, Sunday lunch good size portion, plenty of meat and veg. Also managed desert (just) which was gorgeous. Just wish we lived nearer so we could visit regularly but will definitely return if we are in this area again.

Good quality food, cooked and served without a fuss. We had the lobster which was well presented and tasted great but was a bit small for the price, came with a basic salad and loads of new potatoes. It just needed a bit more effort, service was efficient and polite.

So pleased we stumbled upon this gorgeous pub off the beaten track and decided to book for Sunday lunch. It has lots of outdoor seating decorated with pretty flowers. On entering the bar from the back car park/garden we received a very warm welcome and quickly shown to our table with our 2 small dog's which normally are quite happy to lay on their mat under the table but 1 was a bit fidgety so the landlady kindly offered her dog's bed. Dog's finally relaxing and our drinks order taken + menu left we soon realised it is a popular pub. We opted for 1 roast beef and 1 roast turkey with roast potatoes, parsnip, carrots, mange tout and garden peas plus a side of cauliflower and broccoli in cheese sauce ~ everything was presented very well plus tasted amazing. All the staff are happy even though it is very busy and nothing is too much trouble. Portion sizes generous. For puddings we decided on 1 sticky toffee pudding and 1 waffle which was decorated with berries, 2 scoops of icecream and drizzled in a chocolate sauce. Faultless. Booking advisable to avoid disappointment especially weekends and weekday evenings. We can honestly say we will definitely return. A big thank you.

I know I have written a review before, but wanted to endorse what's already been said, but adding that over the period of more than 2 years we have been eating at the Foundry Arms the standard is absolutely consistent. Both the food and the service, which creates such a good environment for a meal out. And it really is dog friendly. It is our favourite place for Sunday lunch, especially the nut roast.

Lovely venue and the staff were all good but the food was poor. Chicken and vegetable pie was oddly flat with no discernible chunks of chicken and no flavour, plain boiled potato’s, no butter, salt, mint or anything, ‘fresh veg’ was a scattering of peas and sweetcorn with some carrots, it did not seem fresh, gravy was poor and I suspect from granules: Wetherspoonsesque but twice the price. My daughter had the sea bass which was better but still not good. Unlikely to visit again.

Paul, you surprise me by your review, though thank you for taking the time. We always appreciate feedback from our customers, positive or on the odd occasion, negative. Our homemade pies along with the sea bass are both very popular dishes. I'm terribly sorry you were disappointed with your meals. We check back on every table and had you said something at the time, we certainly would've offered an alternative. To compare us to Weatherspoons is an insult. We do not mass produce, microwavable food. Ours is all home cooked and it's very rare we have a complaint. If you read through our many many reviews you will see this. I do hope you give us another try. Kind regards Sarah 😊

We were spending a couple of days in nearby Sheringham and came across the Foundry Arms on the internet whilst searching for best places to eat in the area. We're so glad we did. It's tucked a bit of of the way but it's well worth taking the trouble to get there. From the moment we walked in we were greeted early by all the staff and we then sat down to dinner excellent food. After dinner lovely starters, my wife had the chicken carbonara and I had local Cromer Crab Linguine. Both were delicious and the portions so generous neither of us finished our meals. Even as we left we had a friendly chat with the landlady which made us feel like valued customers. A really pleasant experience all round. Next time we visit the area, this place is a 'must'.

We visited here on a Wednesday evening and the place was fairly quite. There was a nice warm, friendly welcome and were given a table by the window. We ordered drinks while we perused the excellent menu. We shared the cheesy nachos to start and our main courses were crab Thermidor and sirloin steak both were cooked to perfection and served by friendly, smiling staff. There is nothing negative to say about the Foundry Arms!
