Portofino was a regular Italian food restaurant many years ago, but for some reason we stopped going. Recently, I saw a Groupon for Portofino and decided to give it a whirl. Went with a family of four on a Sunday night. The restaurant was pretty crowded at the early sitting but we did not feel at all crowded. The service... More

We wanted a special birthday celebration for my father in law and chose Portofino's and we are happy we did. The food was wonderful, the atmosphere was delightful and the staff was charming. The owner had some new appetizers to try, which were heaven and reminded me of my youth. We loved the rice balls, the grilled zucchini and the... More

Portions are quite large but the quality is not there. The clams casino appetizer was quite fishy and the calamari was so uniform looking that it must have come out of a box. The veal was very good but the red sauce on the pasta was only fair.

I wondered why the restaurant was near empty on a Friday evening, after our dinner I knew why. We will not return. My tilapia was drenched in butter that took away from the enjoyment of the fish and vegetables. My husband sent his stuffed flounder back as it smelled fishy and tasted off. The waiter was gracious by offering another... More

Nice, family owned and operated BYO located off the beaten track with parking. Classic Italian menu. I've always had pleasant dining experiences. The wait staff is always friendly and make you feel welcomed. Highly recommended.

Practically everything I tried to eat, I wanted to spit back out! Stale bread, they toast that so you won't notice, I noticed. Dipping oil, no flavor at all. Clams casino, the worst clam I have ever had in my life, no kidding. Shrimp on a appetizer platter, covered in marinara sauce, I cut the shrimp in half so I... More

We stumbled upon this delicious BYOB home-like restaurant while driving around Morristown on 1/2 biz/1/2 pleasure trip. The environment is cozy, the waiter-Sean was more than perfect and inviting. We ordered the Spaghetti Pescatore and Linguini with Clams and Shrimp-WOW!. The plate was pleasing to the eye and as big as our hungers, not to mention the perfect combination of... More

Nice, off the beaten track (parking available) BYO, with a classic Italian menu. We had a chicken entree with prosciutto, mozzarella, and mushroom; a salmon special with olives and capers - which was fresh and excellent; a seafood salad - also very fresh, and broccoli rabe. The pasta sides that came with our entrees were al dente, and the sauce... More
