This is a fabulous venue with lovely friendly staff. The bedroom was spotless although the enormous bathroom needed a little tlc. The food is superb with an excellent selection of wines. My husband had the steak pie which he said was the best he had ever eaten. The bar and lounge area is attractively furnished with dogs allowed in the bar. Breakfast was enormous, hot, fresh and excellent quality served by a delightful lady who gave us very helpful tourist spots to visit. I would highly recommend this venue

To add to the excellent reviews of this charming inn, a lunch this day revealed a cheerful welcome, a menu to ponder, and food to admire. A leather-sofaed snug led to a art deco bar area, which led to a cosy log-fire-warmed room, all laid for diners and the variety of decor matched the variety of choice on the menu, hence the pondering. It is unlikely that you would be disappointed with anything that emerged from the kitchen, where someone with great ability operates, matched only by the personable service. The really good food is really well presented, it's a joy, and somewhere to return to with enthusiasm .

We had a two night stay here. It was exceptional. The room was spotlessly clean, furnished to a very high standard, the four poster bed was comfortable, a very spacious en-suite with roll top bath and huge walk in shower. A good choice of tea, coffee and hot chocolate, with a choice of fresh milk from reception, and complimentary flapjacks were a lovely touch. The breakfast was freshly cooked high quality items, a good choice of cereals, juices, yogurt and fruit, with pastries cooked to order if desired. We had an evening meal one evening, where we had fish and chips, then fruit crumble, and profiteroles. All very nice. My only slight criticism were the profiteroles, which, whilst very nice, were £10, and you only get 3 of them, which I thought was rather mean for the price. We did have some traffic noise being at the front of the hotel, but this didn't bother us at all. The staff were very friendly. This was a great place to stay with our dog. I would highly recommend staying here.

On a positive note, this pub has a warm friendly appeal, with excellent toilet facilities and quite attentive with regard to Covid precautions however not so complimentary regarding the food. Our party of 4 all chose the burger option, two lentil vegiburgers and two beefburgers. I know pubs lost a lot during Covid but I am shocked at how accepting the public are with inflated prices since. £14 for burger & chips and a dollop of coleslaw isn't exactly fine dining as the prices reflect, but would have been a little more acceptable if the plate had a salad accompaniment rather then the thinnest of tomato slice and a lettuce leaf inserted into the bun. The beefburgers were of a good size and tender but lacking in flavour. I would point out that Management were very swift and helpful regarding a relatively minor financial issue.

Only went here because the chef at our hotel was ill. Food was overpriced and “style over substance”. For example I ordered a cheeseboard and the waitress asked me if I wanted cheese for one, two or three. I asked for cheese for one and thought it was a strange question. However when my £10 cheeseboard arrived it consisted of one slice (not a chunk or a lump but a very small slice) of each of the 3 cheeses listed. This was accompanied by 6 tiny frozen grapes and 6 tiny crackers. The waitress also didn’t know what a cheese knife was and offered it to my husband who was having steak. The pub was nice and staff were friendly but if you’re hungry I’d go elsewhere.

Excellent cheerful, efficient service, but the food was really not that great. The setting is pretty pleasant if a little dark even if it's just for ambience. The pie special of the day had a nice dark sauce and tasted good. The fish and chips were average. The "Coke" pulled pork was a complete waste of time. It came as a dollop of amorphous pulled pork with cheese. It looked a complete mushy mess sat on top of a big basket of chips. All the meals came with loads of soggy-ish thin cut chips. They would have done a lot better with a smaller serving of thick cut, crispy, properly done chips. Overall, I wouldn't recommend the pub meal. Super average for an above average price. Redeeming qualities were really the staff and the setting.

We went to The Wichwood for a meal with a couple of other families and were all planning to eat pizzas from their dedicated pizza menu. Unfortunately we were informed that pizzas were not available today as they were short staffed and didn’t have enough chefs. We ordered from the regular evening menu which was very pricey for pub food, with examples such as caesar salad at over £24 including service charge! The total cost for our meal and drinks was almost £400 for three families. Considering none of us had starters, most didn’t have desserts, and most of the guests were only drinking soft drinks, this is a ridiculous price for pub food. The pub itself is nice and their beer garden area is well designed. The food is also pretty good but doesn’t compare to other restaurants in the area at this price point.

Lovely pub with rooms. Rooms are nice with great touches. However menu was seriously disappointing. One vegan option a spicy bean burger'. No other vegetarian option, in this day and age.one expects more from a restaurant that has had some good reviews. When asked if could offer something else the chef apparently said 'cheese salad''. Seriously unhelpful Staff were very nice, cheerful and helpful.

We recently visited the Inn as a last minute decision with friends as a half way meeting point. The food was lovely and Ryan our waiter went above and beyond for us. He gave us some lovely recommendations about the menu and was very knowledgeable about the wines. I will definitely be returning with the family so they can experience this beautiful Cotswold Inn.

Had 3 meals in 5 days, all superbly cooked. The chef should be on Master Chef: food succulent, seasoned and tastes great. The beer is good and a good selection of wines. Staff friendly and tentative Price for 2 courses plus one drink each £75 for 2 of us. Not the cheapest, but post Covid, post fuel crisis, etc. seams to be the new going rate.

We visited the Wychwood inn as we were passing through, the food and service was excellent especially Ryan who went above and beyond for us. He knew all about the gluten free options and make my wife alcohol free cocktails which she said were the best she ever tasted. Would definitely recommend this little hidden gem to friends and family, can’t wait to come back and visit again. Thank you again to the Wychwood inn team and Ryan for making our visit very enjoyable! 5 stars around!

A really lovely venue with such nice staff and delicious food. We had Sunday lunch which was well cooked and full of flavour. A beautiful outside space so you can eat in or al fresco. The Vegetarian option was really tasty and highly recommended

We had booked for lunch for four at another eating place in the area but it had to close at a day's notice (not necessarily Covid19 related!) A quick check on the web showed the Wychwood Inn which was able to take us. The meals were all excellent - well prepared and cooked and a bit different. A nice choice of wines and beers. The staff were welcoming and helpful. Like many pubs and restaurants, they have had a hard month with changing rules and people's reluctance to go out before Christmas (not to mention the last two years). Support them if you can!

We had such a lovely Sunday lunch here today. Warmly welcomed we were offered possibly the best table in the pub right next to the fire, which was warm and cosy. The veggie roast was easily the best we've ever had, I think we counted seven varieties of veg (including the yummiest cauliflower cheese!) and roast spuds too, all cooked beautifully and served with a whopping Yorkshire and lovely hot gravy. After an eight mile walk it was well and truly demolished. Great food, great service....thank you!

On holiday in Milton & wanted to support the local Pubs & Restaurants, went on-line & booked this Pub, however it was not to be! The rain was pouring down as we looked for the entrance door & some light inside.! Having received a confirmation E-mail of our booking we were confident the Pub must be open??? In the dark and with the aid of a torch we found a sign on the door telling us Wychwood Inn is closed Monday and Tuesday, today being a Monday So the message is do not believe what you see on the website & find a way to eat somewhere else, like we had to do
