Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Sunday lunch was just awful, fatty beef, poor vegetables over priced by far. Did complain and he was very apologetic offered a free drink but we refused this is unacceptable when you pay £18.95 for one course sorry won't be back.

As a family we have been to Sid’s a number of times. Great location on a sunny day, and even a rainy one ! Sunday lunch was superb, my wife and I had the garlic mushrooms and a main course of roast beef. The meat...was excellent with lovely and vegetables done to perfection. The whole meal was done to perfection. Will definitely be seeing Sid and his great staff again soon. Highly recommendedMore

Brilliant find on Penarth Sea Front, brought my parents today for Sunday Lunch, From the minute you enter you are looked after, service impeccable and you feel special, very relaxed/chilled vibe. We had 2 courses, fresh crab, lamb cawl and garlic mushrooms (not frozen to...microwave) then Sunday roast,it was piping hot, succulent tender beef, roast potatoes/parsnips/carrots with big tureens of cauliflower cheese, broccoli mornay and vegetables with delicious gravy and a homemade Yorkshre pud. My parents loved it and we were all full and content! Excellent value for money and better than a lot of places we have been where it is not fresh, small portions and over priced. Thank you for a lovely lunch and a fantastic dining experience, we will be back to try the fish and breakfast! A refreshing change from the normMore

This place may be good for breakfast, but not Sunday lunch. For £18.95 we choose the beef, very little thinly cut and very fatty 2 carrots 2 sprouts and 2 roast potatoes with cauliflower cheese and something orange which was well overcooked and watery.we did...complain about the beef and the owner offered us a free desert which we declined. I just think the price was a bit high considering the quality of the food, as there is much better around.would I go again , the answer has to be no, but maybe for breakfast.More

Happened upon Sid’s in Penarth when I wanted to have breakfast with my Dad. We were greeted with friendly smiles and offered a lovely warm spot to sit down. The Full Welsh breakfast is probably the best I’ve ever had and we plan to return...at our earliest opportunity. Also considering booking one of the monthly pop-up evening meals as a treat in the near future. “Tidy”.More

We use Sid’s regularly as its early local. By far the best location in the area with superb deck area to appreciate the views. Food and service are excellent. Latest visit was for their full Welsh breakfast which was cooked to perfection along with their...always homemade bread. Highly recommend at any time of day.More

As both ourselves and our neighbours use Syd’s regularly we booked our Christmas party there. Great food but the usual very warm welcome we receive from Syd and the excellent service from his staff ensured everyone had a great night. However not really surprised as...this is the welcome we have always received from Syd and the teamMore

Have just enjoyed one of Sid's curry nights. The food was excellent - a two course set menu ( some curry nights there are 4 courses). Nicely presented, delicious food and excellent service from Sid. Will definitely be coming back.

We hired the whole venue for a celebration of my mum's life (a "wake"). Sid and his team provided the most delicious afternoon tea with the freshest bread I've ever tasted. Many of our guests were visitors to the venue for the first time and...had come from as far afield as Austria, Yorkshire, London and Pembrokeshire. The layout of the venue allowed for mingling with plenty of space for those less mobile to rest their feet. Guests were delighted to be able to step outside for a few moments of quiet reflection on the terrace where they could to pause and appreciate the stunning views that the restaurant offers. The homemade sausage rolls and brownies are superb. As locals we are lucky enough to be able to pop in whenever we want for cuppa and a brownie while we admire the views and listen to the relaxing background music.More
