Lane's has always been top notch in all respects, and we had not been for about a year as it is out of town for us. So, we were looking forward to it, and had booked ahead - and early before a popular show in town as advised on the phone. We were told it would be busy, but the... More

This is an older place that is slowly being modernized. The food is good but not special but the staff are very good, helpful and friendly. We have stayed here in the past and will definitely look at it again after the reno is finished.

Had a very nice breakfast. The Eggs Benedict was on a homemade English muffin with homemade hollandaise sauce. The server was very pleasant as well. We gave it a 4 out 5 because the coffee was lacking umph. It was hot but not delicious.

Hello Shannon~ Thank you for coming in for breakfast and taking the time to write a review. The eggs benny is a favourite and normally our coffee is a rave, as well. It's organic french roast roasted by Nova Coffee. This review prompted us to delve into the issue. We dismantled the coffee machine and discovered that the water wasn't... More

The waitress was wonderful ,the atmshere was good ,the food was terrible and the prices were a bit high.

A message was sent to Rose E as we believe her to be the guest who called us about her experience. We had a long chat and resolved the issue that she wasn't happy about at a kitchen meeting. She found the chunks of lobster in the lobster roll were too large and didn't enjoy dessert. We invited she and... More

A quaint place. Very cosy. Our server was so informative. If you want fresh seafood, this is the place to go! Would return in a heartbeat. It was established as an inn in 1962. We just visited the restaurant but it might be neat to stay overnight another time. I recommend this as an excellent place to dine.

Mains are good but sides could use some improving. Not really expensive if coming from somewhere else but a bit high for the local traffic. Right across from Mersey seafood but they don't seem to take advantage of the scallops and shrimp available there. I will go back again but not too often.

Hello David Thank you for dining at Lane's and taking the time to write a review. I went to lanes for dinner with family and friends. The atmosphere was very pleasant and staff friendly. Food very good and service likewise. The decor is eclectic/rustic we found the menu varied and has something for everyone. Portions good on mains but deserts a little on the smaller side. Steak good $26 for a mains I would say about... Sometimes when you're dining in Nova Scotia restaurants you can be forgiven thinking you're eating fish in Ontario! Surely they know good fresh fish, why not serve it? Good solid old fashioned food. Not sure I'd go again.

Good Evening 6491~ We have been serving the freshest, locally sourced seafood for the past 54 years. We have a fish monger who delivers locally caught haddock a least twice a week. Clams are delivered from Digby twice a week. The scallops are from Mersey Seafoods which is located across the street. The mussels from PEI are a very popular... More

I hosted a dinner for 8 friends at Lane's recently one weekday. Ours was not the only large party, so it was a challenging evening for the waiter and the kitchen. Both came through quite well. We had one order that could have arrived at the table warmer, but the problem was quickly corrected. From soup through dinner and on... More

Went for lunch. Very friendly service. Had fried whole clams and they lightly battered and fresh. Have eaten here on a prior trip and enjoyed the food as well
