This is a old style cafe with very beautiful garden, food is great , service is excellent , most importantly we can bring our lovely Bobo with us, we also invited Bobo 's mother and her family, we all enjoyed our lunch over there, we'll definitely back to there when we have holiday in Coromandel. We love to call in here on our way to and from Hahei. The tables in the orchard garden are a lovely place to have a coffee or food before hitting the road in the summer. If there's a breeze blowing or in other seasons they even have blankets on hand if you want one.!

Great food with happy welcoming staff. Very wet day so got rather wet negotiating puddles etc from car parking area. Building and surrounds in need of small spruce up but charming.

5 of us stopped in for lunch. Three had the feta dish, one had the pork and the last had the chicken soup. Coffees were also had, as were custard squares and a cheesecake. All up spent around $NZ120 Now for the food. Soup was excellent; pork was average (cracking was soggy, salad not too good); feta was basic but... More

Stopped for coffee today, the last time we went there was about 16 years ago! The setting is beautiful but the gardens were not at their best, overgrown and untidy. The food looked devine and I wished it was lunchtime. We ordered coffee and a mandarin and coconut muffin for hubbie. Coffee was really nice, just how we like it,... More

I love the way Colenso is surrounded by an orchard. Their food is always super fresh. They accompany their dishes with an interesting salad and often the food is sourced from their garden. We are from the area and Colenso is one of our favourites.

The cafe could easily be missed as it is set back from the main road. We had a very enjoyable lunch outside in the garden. The lunch was very enjoyable and the service good.

Colenso is such a unique and lovely cafe. Great service, wonderful staff and best of all the food. You have to try the cakes, the cake from Princess Diana's wedding is so spectacular, I have never tasted anything quite like it. Shame I had to share a bit! Colenso is set in a beautiful garden among fruit trees. Most of... More

The food was fresh, organic and lovely.... We sat outside with the Orchard trees and sparrows, enjoying the sunshine. The eggs and toast breakfast creation was in the 15 dollar price range, with a flat white to compliment the feast.
