We did it again and after the Tongariro crossing treated ourselves on a nice lamb curry at this café. A friendly guy from Holland came to our table and was glad to speak his mother-tong for a moment. We had the specialty and it was great.

The "rösti", potatocake, was more like chips. Very dry. The fish was good as well as the vegetable soup. An OK but ordinary meal.

Perhaps this is a little pricey given that it is a cafe, but I think it's location you are a captive audience. We ate there 2 nights in a row, food was good, well presented and serviced quickly by happy efficient staff. Lacked a bit of atmosphere which could be improved if the main lights were off or dimmed. Surprisingly... More

I was here with a friend for her birthday. Checked in at the Chateau and thought this would be a good alternative for dinner. I had the fish of the day...bland. My friend had the portobello. Again, bland. Perhaps it's a good place for those watching their blood pressures. I'd rather go to other restaurants close by or even drive... More

This appeared to be the best selection out of the several places to eat locally. We had the steak sandwich - it was okay, nothing to write home about and reasonable value. The place lacked atmosphere and was not very busy at all. Little else to say.

The food was ok, I took a lamb shank that was meant to have vegetables and mash potato puree, I had to order a bowl of fries to get full, which is saying a lot as I get full quite quickly. The puree was literally a spoon of puree, which tasted delicious but I would not call that the equivalent... More

Whilst the staff here were very nice the food and the coffee was not too great and we had to wait a very long time for it.

Great service, but get in early or make sure you book, as this place gets very busy after 7pm. Good selection of food and drinks.

Very relaxing casual restaurant with outgoing helpful staff. Menu covered a wide range of tastes at a reasonable price. Our food was served in good time and was delicious.

The little sister to Ruapehu Restaurant but with good menu, wine list and service. We thought it was a little overpriced for the food, but it was of good standard.
