Found this gem in downtown area within 5-6 blocks from the Convention Center. We were there for dinner (make sure you're there before 8 p.m.) This is a counter order deli where the food is plentiful, cheap and delicious. The food is served cafeteria style where you can see before you order but all food is made fresh. This is... More

Headed downtown to see the Tabernacle Choir and managed a quick bite for dinner here. Super friendly German cook was over the top cool! Had the wienerschnitzel with spaetzle and rotkohl. Amazing. Great prices too and while you are there you can pick up all kinds of German deli meats, bakery and sauces and spices. Very impressed.

I had the Hungarian goulash both times and thoroughly enjoyed it. The line was long and seating barely adequate, but we were well cared for.

The only disappointment here was the goulash. It had way too much paprika and pepper. I could not eat it so my husband and I switched dishes. Even he who likes spicy food had trouble finishing it. I have been to Germany and Switzerland and enjoyed goulash there where it was never spicy. The meat was tender and the spaetzle... More

I had the Reuben, but I got a great look at the sausages , which was their daily special and it looked great too. Interesting deli with a mini German store inside. Visit it for lunch. You will not regret it.

Is it cloves that makes the red cabbage so good? I don't know but the sausages, sauerkraut, German potato salad and chicken were great! You can even get a German beer here or shop for some spaetzle in their shop!

This is a casual place where you order and then take a seat. No table service but they will bring the food you ordered to your seat. And if you make a reservation you do not have to wait in the deli line to order food. The food is very good German and they have a large menu of items.... More

Huge bowls of soup - chicken noodle, borscht and goulash - big tasty reubens on marble rye, warm potato salad - everything you want in a deli. We had a bit of a wait, but there is so much to look at in the deli and shop, that it wasn't bad at all. The prices are amazingly low and the... More

Homestyle German food with great neighborhood atmosphere. We all had the schnitzel, and the cabbage/potato sides rounded out the meal very well. My kids thought it was fun to sit at the counter along the front windows! I appreciated browsing the imported products, and overall it was a fun experience.
