This wonderful place is a local's favorite. Dance under the stars while enjoying good food and good company. Quality entertainment, delicious, moderately priced food, and island breezes under the stars...what more could you wish?

Easy to make reservations online. On their website you can see their entertainment schedule. We requested seats close to dance floor, but next time we requested table a little further back (that way people aren't dancing close to your table). Food was great. People of all ages up dancing 2- 92yrs. A fun evening.

The Blue Dragon is one of the few restaurants on the Kohala Coast of the island of Hawaii that actually serves good food at a reasonable price to quality. They take the food seriously and it comes first, with fresh, quality ingredients. The menu could be revised a bit to offer a broader range of choices for different palettes. The... More

The food was excellent as was the service. We listened to John Keawe play his fantastic Hawaiian slack key guitar as his lovely wife, Hope, did the hula....looking above (no ceiling there) at the stars was amazing. I hope they will reopen soon...we want to go back asap.

This restaurant was a hoot. The food was fine though not spectacular but the music and dancing and the whole vibe was fun for my whole family. Loved the specialty cocktails

We ate here for dinner and found the food and drinks to be okay. What we really enjoyed was the live entertainment and festive atmosphere. It was great to see all ages - 5 - 75 - dancing under the stairs to live music.

Maybe they'd already left on vacation as the next day was the start of their annual refurbishment shutdown. Several items on their fairly short menu were not available. A question about wifi was met with a laugh - yes they have it but it doesn't usually work. Service was middling (super slow and three easy requests never met) where it... More

We came here for the last night of our Big Island vacation and had an unforgettable night! Between the live music, incredibly delicious food, and unique ambiance (no roof) we'll be back on our next visit to the island. Their Mai Tais can't be beat, and the Living Salad is a must to be ordered! PS - They do have... More

We have been going to the Blue Dragon on every trip to Hawaii for the last 3 years. The food is wonderful and the music is lively and fun. The atmosphere is very tropical. My one criticism is that we had a reservation for a party of 8 on my husbands birthday. On arrival we were met at the door... More

Thank you so much for your feed back, it is always welcomed and appreciated. I do apologize about the Birthday Party. The entire neighborhood had lost power and Internet that evening. Unfortunately, this day and age all of our reservation systems are both electronic and internet based. So it was impossible for us to contact our guests to inform them... More

Friends and colleagues said we must visit the Blue Dragon on the Big Island for fine food and great music. We drove for 30 minutes after making a reservation and giving them our hotel phone. It was raining. It sometimes rains on the Big Island (Duh) When we arrived it was raining and the manager said "we are closing." There... More
