During winter several restaurants have different hours. While shopping in downtown Estes Park we decided to try this place for lunch. Man were we glad we did. The Cowboy hamburger was delicious. 1/3 lb. fresh ground beef, grilled Anaheim peppers and bacon. No I was not looking for the lowest calorie lunch. It was great. Everything was served hot. The... I've been in Estes Park for years and hadn't been to The Grubsteak- my loss ! The atmosphere is casual, the service is wonderful and the place is spotless. I'm allergic to gluten, so gluten free is a must and the staff here is well educated on the gluten free items on the menu. My sandwich was delicious, and my... More

We stopped here after spending the morning snow shoeing. We were looking for a burger and a beer and this place had both! Try the shrimp cigars for the appetizer. I had the jalapeño cream cheese burger and it was messy but good. Husband had the cowboy burger which was also good. Kids had the grilled cheese and Mac and... More

We had heard good reviews about this place but were a little disappointed. We showed up about 4:30 hoping for an early dinner, but they were still using the lunch menu which is a bit limited. Service was so-so. Food was decent.

My husband and I had just arrived in Estes Park and were looking for a place to grab dinner. We each ventured into having a wild game burger. I had buffalo and he had Yak. Both were very good. Price seemed reasonable for resort town and wild game. Service was slow that night, but may have just been our server.... More

Come here for the wild game burgers; Elk, Bison, and Yak. The elk and bison burgers are lean and free of fillers such as pork or beef. Waitstaff is very attentive and ensure drinks are topped off all the time. Prices are a little high and I would not pay the premium for the elk steaks as I can go... More

Wonderful meal here with family and friends the other week. We were pretty cold and hungry and the fabulous steaks and burgers and excellent service from Shane set us up for the rest of the afternoon. Lovely atmosphere - we had a fab time!

Looking for a place to grab lunch while shopping and walking around town. Glad we made the choice to stop there as the food was very good, service was in the adequate to good range. We were there when weather was still nice so ate on the patio. Can't really complain about anything. Give the place a try when in... More

When visiting Estes Park, don't miss the burger experience at the Grubstake! We were simply walking around the town and picked a place to eat; little did we know it would be the absolute best! We will return -- without doubt.
