Cook & Brown was simply the best. They were so flexible about me changing the reservation (even up until the day before). We were there for my friends bachelorette and they greeted us with a wonderful cocktail on the house. The food was phenomenal and...More

This is a trendy place with lots of great craft cocktails. I ate here with a group of four and we all really enjoyed them. The appetizers were not so great- we had bluefish fritters that were really bland (seemed as though they forgot the...More

We'd thought about having Saturday brunch in downtown Providence, but instead ventured a bit north to Cook & Brown. It's on a commercial stretch of Hope Street in a lovely residential area. The bright storefront spot is simply decorated but comfortable. Service was attentive and...More

What a romantic and cozy place to dine! Not an extensive menu, but you can bet that whatever you order will be well done. Nice wine list, full bar, excellent service. Make a reservation because it's popular with the locals too.

Small restaurant with noisy ambiance. The appetizers, beet salad and eggplant dish were excellent. The main courses were over salted and not interesting. There are better places to eat near by.

We enjoyed wine and draft beer at this pleasant East Providence pub, and stayed for dinner. A tangy watermelon salad was followed by a tasty charcuterie plate, then Fettuccine carbonara. Our guest accorded the Roasted pork shoulder high marks as well. Ambiance simple and wine...More

All four of us enjoyed our meals very much. Two fried chickens (with awesome biscuits) Smoked bluefish fritters and a salad, and Pasta Carbonara. The pasta appeared to be an appetizer size, but was a full portion. The local beers were excellent! The "but" is...More

We went to this Resturant on a Thursday night after a long travel day, so my perception may have been slightly cloudy. Menu: the choices were slim and several items had been tweaked a little due to having fan out of ingredients or having too...More

Description
Cook & Brown Public House is a modern, New England inspired version of a European Gastropub. This translates to a restaurant with food that is rustic in nature yet refined in technique, and service that is casual and friendly while still maintaining a high level of professionalism and polish. Cook and Brown seats 50-55 people including the bar, which acts more as a dining counter for single diners or those guests who wish for a more casual dining experience.
