We arrived at 7:00 on a Saturday night. The bar was full. It takes awhile to get your drinks. I think it's because many drinks on the menu take awhile for the bartender to make. Things looked up once we were seated at a table. Our waiter James was great. He knew the menu well as well as the wine... More

I've been here multiple times and they make one of the best cocktails in Providence. Looks intimating from outside but great decor and ambiance inside. Service can be lackluster on busy nights but great if you arrive early. I've never tried their food and can only vouch for their cocktails which is 5 stars. They keep changing their drinks menu,... My wife and I had dinner there for the first time last night. The food was excellent. The service was OK, I think our server was new on the job. My wive ordered a Stoli martini w olives and rocks on the side. She got a martini w no olives and no rocks on the side. She repeated her request... More

The Dorrance is probably the most elegant restaurant in the city. The setting is an old bank with inlaid marble floors, detailed woodworking on the walls, etc. Wonderful ambience with hushed surroundings for good conversation. Service is impeccable. It was Restaurant Week and I chose that option. Lobster bisque was a great starter and e swordfish was excellent. My wife... More

Fabulous dinner at The Dorrance while in Providence for college visit. Everything was wonderful, from the craft cocktail to the entrees to dessert! Lobster Pappardelle was absolutely to-die-for! Friendly staff, gorgeous decor. We will definitely be back next time we're in Providence!

We had a late reservation at The Dorrance due to our late arrival in Providence. The staff was extremely accommodating and provided us with outstanding service. Located in the historic Federal bank building dating to the early 19th Century, the decor is something to see. They have maintained the architectural integrity of the building and made it a lovely dining... More

Went for pre-concert dinner. Beautiful building that was formerly a bank. Has old world feel, big wood and stone bar, very spacious with plenty of room between tables. Menu was not huge but nice variety. Quality of food was superb. Started with an arugula salad that was lightly coated with a flavorful dressing. Had lobster pappardelle and wife had grilled... More

We stopped here on a Saturday night for one of their amazing cocktails. I highly recommend the celibacy cocktail, it was delicious. They also had live entertainment a three-piece jazz band with an unbelievable singer. Makes for a very romantic date night. The architecture of this restaurant/lounge is just gorgeous. The high ceilings , the tile work and the molding....... More

We went to the Dorrance for dinner before a perfomance at the Providence Performance Arts Center. The location is ideal very close to PPAC. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Everybody made sure our dinner was served promptly so that we would be finished on time for our performance. The food was excellent and very well presented. The drinks... More

The story of the Dorrance is well told, if you watch TV and believe all that the Million Dollar show a few years ago had to say. How wrong they were! This menu is terrific and the drinks are creative and tasty. Jean, the owner, keeps a watchful eye over her tables and treats guests like family. When introducing her... More
