Great $1 bar clam special during happy hour. All food was good, not great. Worth going back to try additional items. Ciopino and swordfish both good.

I wish there was a category between average and very good. The providence oyster bar is good - at least my meal was good, but it wasn't VERY GOOD and it was better than average. I haven't been to Providence in a million years, so it was really like my first visit. I was a little skeptical when I saw... More

Went for a New Year's Day birthday celebration, as most of our usual Providence standbys were closed. The meal was as good a restaurant meal as I've had in a long time. High quality seafood imaginatively and deliciously prepared. Service was knowledgeable, good humored and excellent. This joins Chez Pascal's in status as best bet among Providence restaurants.

When we arrived the hostess asked if we were there for the happy hour app specials. We didn't know what that meant but decided that $6 appetizers sounded like a good deal. The apps were wonderful. $1 oysters, buffalo bay scallops (gotta try these), sushi, crab legs - all wonderful. We somehow spent $100 anyways but I blame that on... More

Came here for a later dinner for 2 on a Tuesday evening in November. Great service, great atmosphere. Lobster wontons- yummm! And our entrees were incredibly fresh and inspired. Bravo.

My plane landed in Providence and I was starving. I pointed my rental toward Federal Hill, parked and ran toward the first sign I saw with the word, 'oyster' in it. Providence Oyster Bar to the rescue. I bellied up to the bar for a shrimp cocktail, and a large platter of oysters and clams...and a beer. The shrimp were... More

Went for a Sunday dinner.Ordered the paella for one. Comes with plenty of seafood and is one of the best around. They have a small but great menu and excellent choices during "Appy" hour where you can get good deals on fresh food and wine. Paella plus a drink was $32 (not including tip) so prices are up there but... More

Valet parking, great waitress and staff. Oysters were good, the chowder was very good. Lobster mashed potatoes - outstanding. A great night and fairly priced.
