2 constants here, the food is always excellent and there is always a wait, for good reason. My favorite is the green chile beef while wife and I both find the chile rellenos excellent. Parking can be difficult.

We read that this restaurant is a "must try" in Tucson for it's excellent Mexican Food. We arrived around 1:30pm. A small line had formed-we expected this since virtually all reviews said to expect a wait. We were seated in approx 15 minutes. The atmosphere was excellent with beautiful Mexican decor-this is what we look for when eating out-atmosphere! The... More

Had to wait over an hour and we arrived around 5pm for dinner. As we waited outside on the patio, we could smell the aroma from the food. It was wonderful. every time the door opened. Food did not disappoint. We had the "carne seca" tacos, which is a dried beef that is reconstituted. Very flavorful tacos. Really good. Also... More

We've been coming to Tucson every February for the past 17 years, and this year we decided to check out Mi Nidito at the recommendation of a friend, and that Bill Clinton was once a diner there. After a 1.5 hour wait, we were seated at our table which had a bowl of warm chips and salsa awaiting us. We... More

The restaurant does have parking but the lots are tight and it can be tricky. We went once in the early evening when the wait was over an hour and a half so We left. We went back for a late lunch another day about 1:30 pm and the wait was still 25 minutes. It was a nice day so... More

A friend recommended this place. She said it was a Tucson landmark, a must-dine kind of place. We went early (about 5 pm) and were seated right away. The decor is over the top (didn't expect anything less) with SW and Mexican knickknacks everywhere. The tables and booths are very, very old and in serious need of replacement. The place... More

After a visit to Steward Boot Co. a few blocks away, we went for lunch at Mi Nidito, following a recommendation from locals. This isn't Mexican food at its fanciest, that's for sure, but the Tex-Mex food was far better than the run of the mill, and everything was delicious. This is a great chow-down place. Parking is available on... More

Although there is often a wait, it is worth it. The service is wonderful and the food is better. I would say the margaritas are marginal but the food is so good you don't care. The Chimichangas and the enchiladas are very good.

There's a reason you can wait an hour or more for a table at Mi Nidito. You'll be glad you did! I had the birria and was sorry I didn't opt for the 'enchilada style' which has a spicy tomato sauce and melted cheese on top. It was excellent and the closest I came to my son's mother-in-law's real deal.... More
