Extremely noisy. I thought I would be dining at a high end restaurant but this was not the case. No tablecloths and napkins were dish towels. Service was slow and food was cold when served. The raw oysters had broken shells and were not of a consistent size -- some were huge and others barely a bite. The menu was... More

Take you palette on an epic journey but don't let the Taste end there. There is plenty to enjoy by the artisans preparing the entrées. When you decide to enjoy a trendy restaurant you get the very best service there is to offer too. The waitstaff is kind, courteous, knowledgeable and engaging. Take advantage of the valet service to avoid... More

We had luncheon at Luke's and it was superior food and service. Small but interesting wine list and craft beers on tap, as well as full bar. The Brussels sprouts appetizer was sensational and perfect for two. The shrimp & grits was perfect & venison pasta was great. Just can't say enough about this lovely spot, including the service.

We went for dinner on New Years Eve. Waitstaff was very friendly and attentive. They also appeared to be well staffed on a somewhat busy evening. Nice choice of cocktails and we tried the Sunshine & Whiskey which was good. For an appetizer we had the onion tart. Not what I was expecting. It was more like an overloaded flatbread... More

Just average. Just OK. Nothing outstanding in any way. Went to dinner. Service was OK. Food was fine. Given the numerous options nearby, wont go back.

Quail is gamy. Or so I thought. While every dish we ordered was cooked and seasoned well, the quail was memorable. Lightly deep fried. Incredibly juicy. And a tangy sweet and sour sauce. A true stunner.

Staying in Embassy Suites so tried Luke for dinner. We split a Luke Burger, which was a big tasty bacon cheeseburger. Scott, our waiter, brought out the burger, already cut in half with two cones of fries. Burger very juicy and tasty...not over seasoned to diminish the meat taste. After we were seated, our table was wobbly due to an... More

We were recently in San Antonio with another couple at a medical meeting and were staying at the Embassy Suites on the Riverwalk. The weather got unpleasantly cold and during the free cocktail hour at the hotel we decided not to venture out and made reservations at Luke. As it turned out we were lucky to get in as they... Took my relatives out for lunch here. My first time visiting. Heard they had some of the best burgers in town and two of us ordered burgers. The other two orders were the Seafood Gumbo à La Creole and an order of fried shrimp. Couple of nice glasses of wine, Malbec and Pino Grigio. The burgers were stellar - cooked... More

My party of four adults from Houston, on holiday in San Antonio, went to Like, which was conveniently located in our hotel. My husband and I had stayed in this Embassy Suites before and discovered Luke. We have eaten in Chef John Besh restaurants in New Orleans. Luke stands up to his reputation. One of our party was handicapped and... More

San Antonio is now home to acclaimed Chef John Besh’s restaurant, Lüke, on the city's famed Riverwalk, Besh's first restaurant outside of his home state of Louisiana. The casual chic bistro features a menu of authentic Old World cuisine, combining classic German and French cooking techniques served in a warm and inviting space of stylish vintage interior, situated in San Antonio's popular downtown district. At the helm of the kitchen of Lüke is Executive Chef John Russ, born and raised in New Orleans. At Restaurant August, Chef Russ began to form the relationship with John Besh and he learned the importance of forming relationships with farmers and fisherman, which would later be reinforced by his time working on farms in Alabama, New Hampshire, New York and Maryland. Chef Russ returned to the Besh Restaurant Group as Chef de Cuisine on the invitation of Chef Besh. To complement its cuisine, Lüke offers an extensive wine list and beer selection.
