Do not be tempted to pass by this unassuming restaurant, located directly on the east side of the Plaza, despite its appearance of an old fashioned diner amid the Santa Fe style of other restaurants. Our experience was it has the best Santa Fe style...More

Loved the green chili stuffed meatloaf. It was a very generous portion and was very flavorful. It came with a veggie and mashed potatoes. Service was excellent. A solid recommendation to eat here.

We were getting a little tired of New Mexican food and was looking for something simple. We had passed this place several times while walking around the plazza. They always seem to be busy, there was just a five minute wait for a table. The...More

This restaurant is great to meet up with family, friends or just hang out by the plaza and watch people. Service was great, food was great, and prices good. The Chile is great with any dish. Try it you will like it.

This place is a gem. No "tourist" trap on the Plaza here. Service was prompt, friendly, and efficient. This place specializes in comfort food Santa Fe style. Pozole was fragrant, flavorful and just better than any we've had back home. Same for the tortilla soup...More

Description
Known as Santa Fe's oldest restaurant, the Plaza Cafe serves highly acclaimed, authentic traditional dishes since 1905. Located on the historic Santa Fe Plaza, you won't find a better view or atmosphere while you enjoy an authentic New Mexican experience. The Razatos family keeps with the traditional cooking methods and flavor combinations of New Mexico and additional recipes from Greece, all the while keeping with the classic American diner experience. This is why you'll find everything from blue corn green chile carne asada enchiladas with a warm pillowy sopaipilla to chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and a gyro with a Greek salad on the side. The Plaza Cafe is a favorite among locals and movie stars alike, and everything finds what they are looking for at the Plaza.
