We have been here 4 times and have never been disappointed in our meals. The banana purses are original and to die for! Ask for a table in the back room or upstairs, some of the tables in the front are tucked in dark corners making it difficult to see what you're eating. Would recommend reservations on the weekends as... More

Thank you so much for your positive review. I always get in trouble for keeping it too dark! Sometimes I feel a bit of Blanche DuBois- I want to throw a pink scarf over the lights and live in the flicker of candles (especially the older I get!) More

Spent the weekend in Newport and our biggest regret was only getting here once! We went on Friday evening Memorial Day weekend. We were able to be seated in the front of the restaurant right away in spite of the fact that the place was hopping. Our waiter was great, very attentive and knowledgeable without being all over us, I... More

I am reposting my less than good experience here. A friend & I went in the early spring/late winter - this was our second visit and had a HORRIBLE meal here, The tenderloin was so tough I could barely eat it. The service was terrible and the options on the menu rather limited. The warmed nuts and the drinks were... More

I'm not really sure where your original review went either but I'm glad you took the time to re-post. I'm sorry we can't seem to get it right with you. If we can't please you then we hope you will at least continue to support our neighbors. You seem to be a big fan of Norey's and so are we!... More

A great recommendation from a local Newport resident, we hit this place up for dinner on a Tuesday night and it was a full house! The decor is eclectic, and the bar/restaurant has a great atmosphere. A reprieve from the nearby touristy places. You can stop by and just grab drinks at the bar, or have the full dining experiencing... More

Thanks so much for your thoughtful review. I'm always psyched when a Chicagoan gives us a great review since your city has such a rich restaurant culture. We are working on the dumplings and hope to either improve them or swap them out for something better. More

This place was recommended by our daughter, who told us about the great kale Caesar salad. What a cute place this was--very eclectic with a friendly feeling. We chose to sit in the back restaurant area as it was quieter than the front, which had booths and a bar & was a little too noisy for me. The decor caught... More

Thanks for taking the time to give us a good review. Sorry about the ribs, we have been transitioning from the winter to the summer menu and extremely underestimated the demand for the new dish . After we ran out on Saturday night, we weren't able to receive a fresh delivery of meat until Monday. We hope we can make... More

I have to say walking in I was kind of like, "cool - a little trendy and retro - it's a nice vibe" but I had no idea the food would be AMAZING. We started the night with terrific drinks. Mine had jalapeno in it and blew me away - I loved it! Our meal was mixed with Asian, Italian,... More

Being a tourist town, it was nice to visit a more local location! The atmosphere was beautiful and our entrees were delish and had great flavors. However the appetizer we had was not that great, the salmon dumplings. Rather fishy, but overall very good!!

Hello and thanks for trying Salvation. I'm sorry about your experience with the salmon dumplings. We make them daily from the trim (the salmon belly) of the salmon we butcher and serve as an entree. I'm not sure what made them unsatisfactory that day but I've been reviewing the process ever since you pointed it out. I hope we can... More
