We stopped in for lunch on the first day of our Newport Christmas visit. We were thrilled to be there during their $1 oyster time. We had the seafood pot pie during our first lunch and it was great. We enjoyed it so much that we returned for the oysters and had their lobster mac and cheese and the broiled... More

We visit Newport monthly and never miss a visit to Benjamin's. We love watching Steve shuck the $1.00 oysters and feel like locals as we "belly up" to the bar. The upstairs is a lot less casual if you are interested in quieter dining. The food never disappoints. The lobster roll, fish and chips, backed haddock, baked stuffed shrimp and... More

A very pleasant and warm place by the sea. Some windows offer a nice view on the bay. Food is good and very fresh. Service is ok and quick if needed (we were in a hurry to catch a boat tour). Some very nice entrees.

Had a great meal. While they proposed for us to sit out in the patio I thought it would be cold but it was comfortable with the heaters that they had placed out in that area.

Had such a great prime rib here and such fun chatting with the locals. Tuesdays (I think) they have all apps for $1! Was very busy and crowded but we were served efficiently and enjoyed ourselves. First time here, but will return. Just be aware that to go to the restroom, you have to go outside and up the stairs... More

Had decent breakfast on saturday morning - it was quiet. Basic breakfast menu and had traditional eggs, toast, homefries and sausage. Quality was pretty good - coffee cups were small so we did have to keep getting cups filled. Relaxing and we sat by the window.

Visited on a cold December night after flying in from the west coast. It was the perfect spot. New England clam chowder was wonderful. Not too heavy with cream but tons of clams. It was Tuesday night and the special is a feature of the raw bar, $1 oysters, $.75 clams, oyster Rockefellers. ....DELICIOUS! The bar was filled with young... More

We heard many people recommend this place for good fish and seafood while we were visiting. It is easy to find right in the middle of town, but parking is not easy unless you go to one of the paid lots a few blocks walk away. That wasn't any problem for us, but anyone who has trouble getting around may... More
