Decided to try authentic Hawaiian food and walked from Seaside Ave. taking around half hour. We arrived around 6, luckily there was no queue so we got a table straight away. The owner was very friendly and went through the menu suggesting on the combination set which we chose. He then explained patiently how to eat everything. Food was different... More

Coming from a local boy, this place IS THE SPOT for anyone looking for amazing Hawaiian Food! Showcased on every food network television show, you can't beat the fact it's just 1 minute outside of Waikiki! I grew up knowing the Oh Young 'Ohana and their hearts are almost as big as their Pork Lau Lau! Everything is amazing and... More

OK, we are big fans of Anthony Bourdain and researched this place based on his experience. It wasn't much of a walk from our place in Waikiki. Fortunately, no lineup so we were seated quickly. The owners/servers were very welcoming, patient and explained the various food choices. We tried one of their combo plates as did everyone else around us... More

This is the second time we have visited somewhere that serves authentic Hawaiian food (the first time we went to Helena's, which we saw on Man vs Food); I think people should be open to trying new things in different countries because you never know if you'll find something delicious. Admittedly we weren't big fans of it the first time... More

One of the most enjoyable meals on our trip was here. Got the big combo plate for a taste of everything. Really good, especially the pork wrapped in some kind of green leaf. Went at lunch and there was no line. Service was great. Family style. Owners looked liked they been doing this for years. Highly recommended.

We thought we were going to Ono Seafood, but it must have been farther down the block. We stopped here, after a decent walk from Waikiki strip and wouldn't have stayed if I didn't think it was rated well. Just a little hole in the wall restaurant. Man working told to share the combo platter and the food came out... More

We visited 'ONO Hawaiian Foods' on our first day on Hawaii, to get the real Hawaiian feeling. The restaurant is small, very original - a good start. We ordered a sampler for two from the menu and shortly after received our food all together. I can't say that the food was bad - it has just not been to our... More

This little restaurant? Is extremely charming :) and obviously a popular haunt of many famous people (the walls are plastered with pictures). It is, quintessentially, traditional Hawaiian food sans Luau. The owner? Is a lovely lady, absolutely charming, who initially? Asks if you've ever eaten Hawaiian food before. If not? You get a quick lesson ;) Take the jerky, dip... More

As I was putting this review together I was going to say we came here for the seafood but ended up ordering pupu. We were puzzled why the menu had almost no seafood and that's when I realized we went to Ono Hawiian Foods instead of Ono Seafood! lol! The portions here are huge and the only mistake we made...
