I had never been so this was a new experience and OH WHAT AN EXPERIENCE!! I had the #1 and #2 meats for the happy hour and they were superb. I wasted my time on the Kobe and the short ribs. The sticky rice with the sweet soy sauce was incredible and then there were... smores. They brought us SMORES!... More

We visited this restaurant last night. The amount of food presented for our 75(US$)missed its mark. Now I enjoy food quality and am willing to pay a fair price for a good meal, but we get more meat on a $10 sub from subway. Service was good but the meal was very overpriced. You have to cook your food which... More

We've been to quite a few spots of this franchise and continue to come back to this specific location while we're in town. It's not THE best service but you cook your own food on a grill and enjoy the company you're with. Be sure to check out the all-you-can-eat menu. We weren't given the all-you-can-eat menu the first night... More

Visited during lunch and had the happy hour special which was 3 grill selections for $17.99 including appetizer, soup, and rice. I got the bistro hanger miso steak (for $3 extra), Cajun pork belly, and shrimp. The bistro hanger steak flavor was amazing as was the pork belly. The shrimp was good too. The app was edamame and the soup... More

We were looking for a change from the regular fare on the Waikiki strip and came across this little gem! The restaurant has a variety of Asian dishes that you cook on small Bar B Qs located on each table. The staff were very friendly and most helpful in suggesting choices and providing instructions on how to cook meats and... More

This is the first time we had Gyu Kaku. We heard so much about it and finally we got the chance. If you have ever done BBQ before you should be familiar with the process. meat is good. I would suggest stick with the best sellers and you won't regret it. We visited during the new year holiday season so... More

Having lived in Japan and eating at Gyu-Kaku in Japan, the food and service here were not up to expectations. This could have been a 5 star rating except for a few items that need attention. We called earlier and were told we would need to make reservations since we had a group of 6. When making reservations we were... More

We ate there using open table reservation at 3:30 and pretty much had our pick of tables and it was quiet and at a relaxing pace so we enjoyed the meal. Happy hour had a number of items lower in price so you could save a few bucks. Wagu beef, Shabun beef, Ny steak, duck breast, garlic chicken, plus a... More

First, I want to say that our server was very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. Beyond that, I did not find this place very enjoyable. You pick a number of items and they are brought to you raw to cook at your table. We were told some idea on time (such as "around 3 min per side" for scallops... More

I have dined in similar style joint in Tokyo where you make your own meal from the meats they serve you and was pretty fun. This was similar in quality as well. Generally the meat they served was good, not perfect though and there were some chewy bites bit still very good. However it is not a cheap place on... More
