Nobu sets the bar for Japanese restaurants worldwide. It's expensive but worth it- especially if you're on vacation or on an expense account! The food is like nothing you've ever had before. If you haven't dined at Nobu, you should have your server assist with food choices. Our waitress was terrific and helped us immensely as we sorted through the... More

We've always heard great things about Nobu in LA, so we decided to try it while on vacation. The atmosphere is very nice, but in the end, it was overpriced, average sushi, presented in a fancy way. Drinks were incredibly expensive, too.

Ordered both the omakase sushi and sashimi. Food was ok. Something you might expect to pay $20-$30 for a your local sushi bar, not the over $100 per person you pay here. There service was also not very attentive. There were lots of servers constantly going by the table but no interest in helping tables they were in charge of... More

The otoro tuna belly sushi was outstanding as was the yellow fin with jalapeño. Great unfiltered sake as well as service. Skip the crab/ lobster tacos. All in all, very expensive but sushi we both have ever had.

The went here last week (March 2014). Whilst the food was very nice, it was very expensive for what you got. The waiter advised us to order around 5 dishes between 2 of us - at around $25 a dish - expensive as they are only tiny portions! We ordered 3 dishes and the waiter said he would bring us... More

Three of us had the $100 Omakase (chef's tasting) menu on Friday 7 March 2014. All seven courses were delicious. Highlights for me included the seared tuna, the steak and the snapper sushi. The cocktails I had (lychee and grapefruit) were also really good. Service was attentive and fast. The decor, like other Nobu restaurants I've been to, was simple... More

I have eaten at the nobu in LA California as well as in Japan and this does not even compare. The fish paled in comparison to the quality at some other sushi places in town. For over 200 dollar tab you would expect top quality fish, it was simply not. Their 9 dollar Cali roll was the best thing of... More

We really liked the wonderful service here. Unfortunately, the food just was not up to par. Things started okay, the salads were really delicious and the drinks were quite good. The hot dishes were particularly disappointing. I agree with other reviewers that the Miso Glazed Cod was awful but not as bad as the Abalone Dish which was disastrous. The... More

We went to Nobu having read it was one of the "must do" restaurants in Hawaii. We anticipated the pricing as it was a fine dining venue but were disappointed with the small servings and sometimes dismissive table service. The food was tasty but not what I would consider worth the cost. We found Roys was a much better alternative... More

We were both disappointed in our meal at Nobu, it was style over substance in all the courses except for the oysters. The dishes were either under seasoned or so over seasoned as not to be pleasant. The signature dish of the miso glazed cod was the worst I have ever been presented with! The staff are pleasant and hardworking... More
