This is a very enjoyable experience and a lovely place to visit for both lunch and dinner. Allan our host was super and made our whole experience worth the while.

We were there for the wine testing. Jerome Carlier as well as all the staff were amazing. Thank you tons for this beautiful moment. And of course the place was breathtaking at golden hours. We will come back for sure!!!

We had the pleasure of dining for the first time at the chateaux to celebrate my fathers 80th birthday and could not have been more impressed and satisfied. From arrival, seating, and through all courses of our meal the staff was perfectly attentive, knowledgeable and...exceedingly accommodating. The standard of service exceeded our expectation and did true homage to the delectable offerings from the kitchen. a true my gourmet experience, the food was absolutely superlative, executed with wonder panache and attention to detail but at no point did the experience feel pretentious or over thought. The flavors on the plate reflected a great appreciation of local seasonal ingredients without ever feeling over indulgent or gastronomically convoluted. Without a doubt the best fine dining experience in Mauritius and of a standard that would compete internationally at all levels. The wine list had an in-depth selection representing all the best regions, both new world and old, with offerings of impeccable quality no matter one’s budget. The ambience was a wonderful mix of historic grandeur and contemporary touches, with beautiful seating both indoors and along the patio. The grounds of the property only adding to the serene elegance and the staffs genuine and anticipatory attention made us feel more like old friends returning beloved epicurean rendezvous. We are lucky to have travelled and dined extensively around the world; Chateaux de Bel Ombré now sits at the top of our list of truly special experiences. We can only look forward to our next occasion to visit! During our meticulously planned trip to Mauritius, we had high hopes for our dinner at Chateau de Bel Ombre, expecting it to be one of the highlights of our journey. This dinner was meant to celebrate not one but three birthdays, so you can imagine...our anticipation. Shortly after we were seated, I was trying to keep my little son entertained when I noticed something that sent shockwaves through me – a rather sizable rat near my chair. Now, it's important to note that I am eight months pregnant, and the sight of this unexpected guest was deeply unsettling. I did my best to remain quiet, not wanting to alarm other guests. When a staff member asked how we were doing, I felt it was necessary to inform them about the rat. To my surprise, their response was far from what I expected. Instead of swiftly addressing the issue, the staff member attempted to scare the rat away to another part of the restaurant. Throughout the entire evening, no one from the staff approached us to acknowledge the rat situation. I have worked in top-class restaurants in London myself I understand in such restaurants, situations like these are typically managed with utmost professionalism and attention to the comfort of guests. I was left with no choice but to approach the manager myself l, expressing my distress and anxiety, particularly given my pregnancy and the ongoing presence of the rat throughout our dinner. The manager eventually mentioned that they would consider a solution, we have not been informed directly what would be the solution but noticed 10 percent discount on our bill. While I can appreciate the quality of the food, the presence of a rat undoubtedly overshadowed the entire evening. It was supposed to be a celebration of three birthdays, but instead, we shared our meal with a little uninvited guest Ratatouille that scurried around beneath our table for hours. Imagine our discomfort, especially considering we were wearing open-toed shoes. This experience has left us deeply disappointed. It was not the kind of celebration we had envisioned, and it cast a shadow over our time at Chateau de Bel Ombre. We hope that the management takes this feedback seriously and implements measures to prevent such incidents in the future, maintaining the reputation of their restaurant as a top-class dining destination. This is the first time in my life, when I’m writing a negative review, however, I wish I would see a similar warning before booking this restaurant for our special occasion.More

We had dinner here for my husband’s birthday. Every morsel was delicious and beautifully presented. The crab starter and prawn ravioli were especially good. A gorgeous cake was presented to my husband who was delighted. A great venue for a special occasion.

This spot is great for honeymooners for a nice romantic dinner experience. Ask for Allan as your host, he has made the whole experience 100 times better.

This is an absolutely gorgeous venue, inside and outside. The food is just incredible - the best restaurants in Mauritius! Highly recommend their 5 course tasting menu.
