We had our evening meal here, the service was great. My husband had bluecod which was cooked perfectly served with fries and coleslaw, salad would have been preferable...but it is winter, he enjoyed his meal. I had marinated prawns, which is a starter but had...More

Menu bragged about the Seafood Chowder. Said it was so good it would leave you wanting more. Ordered it and a pint of cider. 5 minutes later i had to chase cider up. The chowder. Well it tasted great but way too little of it.

Ate here while staying in Twizel. The staff were welcoming and right on the job. There is a good selection of dishes available for a restaurant in a small town. Patrons can sit in the bistro or in the adjoining bar. This place got busy...More

Thank you for your review. I must first apologise for your bad experience. I can not for the life of me explain brown poached eggs. Im also not sure how raw eggs were served. The ciabatta bread was a temporary issue with our bakery supplier...More

Chowder served in a Cob Loaf just goes right to my hips.....I mean heart. I love it. This one had heaps of great chunky fishy bits. I kept dipping in and finding more each time. My pet hate is having a mussel still in the...More

Comfortable and relaxed surroundings combined with friendly service and just good basic fare. Perfect for a low key, reasonably quick meal. Perfect for what we wanted. Burgers were as good as anywhere else in my view.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The food arrived promptly. Portions were generous and the fayre was at the better end of pub food. The beer on tap was Speights, which was fine. Reasonable prices.
