Visited here two years ago and it was ok. Two years later great service and lovely hot tasty food . Nicely looked after. Turned others away as very busy to ensure those already seated were well looked after

Thank donegore

Thank you for sharing your experience on Tripadvisor and especially for giving us a second chance.... So pleased to hear that things have improved at La Brasserie as we strive to deliver the best experience we can as dining out is not just about the food. That is one of the reasons we control how many tables we accept at... More

We came here for dinner on the last night of our hols which was a shame as wish we had found it sooner as we would definitely have gone back. Burgers were excellent, as well as the Prosecco and excellent childrens meals. Service was fantastic too, definitely would advise to book if you want to go. Highly recommend!!

Thank you so much for taking the time to recommend us on Tripadvisor. We were to first to introduce homemade burgers in the village and although other restaurants have followed suit due to our popularity we are the only ones offering fresh homemade burgers of various types (winter sees Boar and Venison versions on the menu). Here's raising a glass... More

Great meal and welcome from hosts. The food was really nice and quite reasonable, and the setting is quite magical when the sun is shining. The ice cream and Baileys dessert was gorgeous. Would recommend.

What is it when a French restaurant offers more burgers than traditional food? I don't get where this has drifted to. The restaurant next door did burgers and much the same menu. Staff were of mixed quality, one bordering on rood. Food was OK , for Covent Garden, however not the Perigord. Price was ok for the square. Won't bother... More

Thank you for your comments regarding La Brasserie de la Place. We started our restaurant 3 yrs ago when all restaurants in the village were offering French cuisine with the same types of dishes but varying quality. We decided to offer a menu that was unusual with home made burgers from beef, to chicken, to duck, to boar, to venison... More

Food was very good, my goats cheese and beetroot salad was excellent, the kids burger and chicken were good but would have been nice to see something green/vegetable with it. Husbands burger was yummy. We were asked if everything was OK, always a lovely touch, given how busy they were. Staff were friendly, if a little stretched, but I would... More

Following having our drinks reception at la Brasserie de la Place in May 2015, which was amazing, with superb drinks and delicious canapés and fantastic service, I booked to return during a surprise trip for my husband on our one year anniversary. Audrey and Sydney went out of the way to make this the most special and memorable anniversary dinner... More

We had been staying with my parents with my two children and their friends. After a wonderful two weeks we decided to spend out last evening having a goodbye and thank you meal at la brasserie. We phoned and booked in advance as we had a party of eight and spoke to a lady who asked us to make sure... More

A great place in the centre of the town square. The burgers are tasty but I think there is better food to be eaten off the beaten track in French restaurants that offer better value

After having suffered some fairly poor service in France it took a bunch of young Brits to restore our faith. Food was simple but good, service was excellent and the location of the main square in Aubeterre on a balmy evening was perfect.

I had a large booking here (20 plus people) for a meal before my wedding. I have visited La Brasserie several times before, each and every time food has been fantastic, waiting staff lovely and welcoming and seating in the square perfect. I wanted to thank the staff and Audrey for coping so well with myself and all of my... More

La Brasserie de la Place is a stylish brasserie in the beautifully renovated ‘Beau Villages’ of Aubeterre sur Dronne. Owned by Sydney and Audrey Murphy-Brandmayer (previously of La Tapazzeria) this tastefull restaurant offers a fresh modern twist to a classic brasserie menu, featuring their renowned 250g Burgers, as well as Duck and Chicken options, not forgetting their Spicy Vegetarian Burger with tzaziki sauce. These dishes are complimented with huge Salads with inventive ingredients and imaginative dressings, along side some traditional brasserie classics such as local Confit de Canard, Ribs in spicy sauce to mention couple. To follow their famous desserts such as White Chocolate and Raspberry Cheescake and Tiramisu tempt even those who are not sweet toothed, with Chocolate Orange Brownies or be spoilt for choice with the Café Gourmand. La Brasserie prides itself on home-made dishes from fresh local produce and has a special section for the kiddies with an ice-cream cone for dessert. With air-conditioned indoor dining or under the trees of the village square La Brasserie welcomes you all to a smile and a little bit of France...
