The food is cheap and cheerful. Phil is pretty cheerful too and the staff are helpful. They appreciate my poor attempt at speaking French and its possible to while away the afternoon here people watching. Some cafes in this village are overpriced for average food and can get pretty rude in peek season so I congratulate these guys for holding it... More

We had a very pleasant lunch with friends. Very good value for money but not gastronomic. Simple honest food. Good wines. Will definitely go back. Nice service although the terrace was full.

I'll confess that we only ate here because everywhere else was closed and even then the cramped appearance of the place nearly put us off, but we were hungry and, as it turned out - in luck. The choice for vegetarians was (as expected) very slim, but we had an excellent omelette and chips with a good 'demi' of local... More

This place is basically an ice cream parlor. They serve a great lunch on the terrace. Good food with good desert.

We had eaten at two other restaurants on the main street, this was a hit with all of our family, 'Best Pizza' and 'Best Ice cream' commented my son, my wife thought her steak was great too and when the bill arrived it was less than the previous nights.. So happy all round, Pizza Savoyade beat me - lovely, but... More

Phil's is without a doubt my favorite eatery in Cotignac. Tasty food, great value, very friendly (even at their busiest) and flexible. Don't be fooled by the 'snack menu' prominently on display at the front to the bar... there is so much more to their food.... traditional brasserie food, but really well done. Here's the joy for families (we recently... More

Although Phil's is literally outside our door we had never had anything other than a drink until last Friday when the plat du jour was Quiche with a salad. It was classic quiche Lorraine and as creamy and delicious as any I have ever had. Accompanied by a chilled local dry rosé wine, it made a perfect summer lunch.

Called in to Phils for a lite lunch, great salad and a couple of glasses of wine. Good food and good value. If your in town call in, not posh just nice and relaxing.

The requested well done burger was raw. Not rare but raw. The €5 burger and 2.50 fries somehow became a 12.50 Phil burger. Somehow they get good reviews and fill the chairs. Maybe my experience isn't representative. Cute town though.
