Lovely local pub, visited for family lunch for granddaughter's birthday. We all throughly enjoyed the fish and chips. My parents said it was the best in the area. The batter was lovely and crispy, and it was a very generous portion. The special of tiramisu...was enjoyed by the grandchildren which looked and tasted delicious. I was envious but just too full to have anything other than a taste. We will return, Sarah was a delightful host.More

We popped in yesterday for a drink - although this is called a “pub” it is very much a restaurant. Apart from a few bar stools there is nowhere for non diners to sit down. We were moved from one table (as reserved although there...wasn’t an evident sign) to another table that we were also asked to move from. We were then asked to move to the “lounge” which consisted of one sofa and chair behind a wall at the back of the pub…. We left without finishing our drinks as felt very uncomfortable….. perhaps one of these days we will try the food but certainly won’t return for an early glass of wine..More

What a fantastic find!! Looking for somewhere to eat with friends whilst on the road... came across The Green Man! Gorgeous inside... welcomed with a big smile & as a quieter part of the day, could chose where we sat! Ended up having three courses...because the food was so good!!. Not had such a wonderful meal in a long time. Lovely old pub, comfortable & cosy & beautifully decorated. Owner served us & couldn't have done enough for us & had no qualms about accommodating our various dietary requirements. She was so lovely & so interesting. Hadn't realised she was the owner until we tried to tip her, which she refused, saying it had to go to her staff.. which it did! She was very proud of them saying what a wonderful team they were, which was lovely to hear. Thank you for a great experience! ...& Hats off to the chef!! You're saved in our favourites!More

We’re regular visitors to the Green Man, probably 2-3 times per month. The food is always extremely high quality, and the menu changes regularly. Victoria (the boss) clearly has very high hygiene standards as the whole pub is spotless. We always get a warm welcome...and really enjoy our visits.More

Once again a sublime experience from a quality country pub. The Christmas menu is full of surprises and caters for all tastes. I had the blade of beef which was a joy. Of course the ever present Victoria oversees the the good quality and high...standards of food and service. Honestly try this place it’s a hidden gem that is reasonable and friendly and with the warm comfortable atmosphere you won’t go wrong.More

Booked as near Lincoln and taking daughter back to Uni. Looked good on Trip Advisor and it certainly was. Very freindly welcome, great choice, especially the boss as she is vegetarian. 3 Vegan sausages and full roast trimmings. 2 beef and it was delicious and...one burger. 4 sweets, again they were great. All fairly priced. Lovely staff. Will be back when next over that way.More

We went for the steak night deal which was a sirloin steak with all the trimmings and choice of sauce plus a bottle of wine. At £39:95 for two this was exceptionally good value. The steaks, as well as all the other items were very...well cooked. Service was excellent. Extremely pleasant experience, thank you.More

On Thursday nights the pub often has a steak night, this week we went for that. The pub was not over busy but there were a few people enjoying the food and quite a lot of 'bar' customers. The steak was smashing, and the price...was superb for the quality of food we received. I had the toasted marshmallow and fudge dessert, which was also smashing, especially as both the mallow and fudge were homemade! The pub was warm, the central heating and two log burners were on, when I asked the landlady told me that she had received complaints that the pub was cold so she put everything on! Cold it was definitely not! Neither the room or the atmosphere.More

Came for Sunday lunch on the recommendation of a few acquaintances and was certainly not disappointed. The beef was tender and pink (as one should have it), roast potatoes melted in your mouth and the vegetables were soft and crunchy. Service was excellent throughout and...paid attention to all of our needs, even going as far as putting us on an accessible table (we had a wheelchair with us). Overall a very warm experience and would recommend to anyone!More

We hadn’t visited this pub in quite a while and thought we would have a trip there with our friends for dinner as it always used to be a lovely welcoming pub. Sadly not anymore!! The pub was very cold two of us out of...the four couldn’t take our coats off and actually ate our food with them on. It was a cold November evening knowing that they always had a log burner in there assuming it would be lit and be nice and warm but definitely wasn’t. We were never asked at any point if our food was ok, even when paying the bill. The food was ok but not great. My husband did raise these points to the bar man when paying the bill just looked at my husband very vacant with not an apology. Personally i whilst whoever own this pub at the moment we certainly won’t be returning and I will be advising other people not to, they don’t deserve the custom.More

We travelled out to Norton Disney in light of the BBC news article regarding Walt Disney’s ancestors. We had a fab day in the beautiful landscape of Norton Disney. Arrived at the Green Man, following the same journey as Walt when he visited. Customer service...was poor when entering, it felt very hostile initially. Bar staff were rude, specifically female. We were asked if we had a table booked to which we confirmed no, and asked if we could have a drink outside. Female noted she would need “to ask her manager”. We were given the okay and we ordered drinks. Another member of bar staff asked the female if “she could make a coffee.” Female noted “Jesus Christ if I have to” and I felt this was blasphomy and offensive given my religious background. We wanted to order food and so called to book a table from outside given our reluctance to approach bar staff. Upon being seated we asked if the table candle could be lit by female and was informed she would “need to ask.” Food arrived and it was fantastic - we thoroughly enjoyed, especially the roast dinner. Was not sure how I felt about eating next to staff on their break given we were informed of the “few tables” available when initially arriving. We were also not approached after being served food to asked if all was okay. Food was good, beautiful area but ultimately let down by the customer service. **update post review** - having since posted a review I am appalled by the response from the owner. Very defensive and a complete deflection of some of the concerns raised. i am insulted that is has been suggested that my judgement was impaired from having three beers. The staff were indeed rude on this occasion and rather than take it on board to enhance their training, the manager deems it appropriate to belittle a customer for their honest reviews. Huge red flag for me and will not be returningMore
