Not the first time we have visited here, most definitely will not be the last. Fantastic food, especially the Steak and Wolf Ale pie. Staff were even better, very welcoming and ever so friendly. Can't wait to come back

We visited this emporium to eat a meal and have a drink. On going through the main door my impression was that it was pub for locals only and no one was eating or appeared to have a table big enough to eat. I asked...More

Traditional English pub with great ales and good food (regrettably not served Mondays and Tuesdays). We stayed at Belford House for a week and the Black Bull was less than a stone's throw away. The atmosphere was everything you would want including log fire and...More

This was our second visit to the area. We were a little disappointed that they didn't serve food on a Monday (delicious last time) but we understand that everybody needs a day off. We sat by the large log fire drinking excellently kept and poured...More

Great old pub with friendly locals and landlord. A much higher rating would have been given if food had been served but I suppose the chef has to have his holidays too. Heard that the good is awesome, beer good and atmosphere wonderful. Got the...More

I don't get all the great reviews on here. We walked in for food because of the good reviews. There is very limited good seating to the left when you walk in. We ended up to the right sitting on small stools. We eventually found...More

A popular pub in the village. Full of locals who were very friendly to visitors. A great choice of hand pulled beers which were conditioned beautifully. Outside seating and smoking area. Lovely staff, really liked the place. It was a proper English pub

We called here just by chance whilst traveling to Scotland. What a lovely little pub. Local beers and good food all at a good price. Friendly service too. We will certainly call again.

Small traditional real ale pub. Offering a cozy, friendly & welcoming environment for both tourists & locals alike. We cannot provide restaurant service or capacity. Just good honest pub fayre for individuals, couples & small parties. Please note. We are unable to accommodate parties of 6 or more.
