I was worried about getting there just 20 minutes before closing time, so I phoned at 4:15 to make sure that would be okay. “Yes, no problem,” they said. “So we will be fine as long as we get there at any time before 5?”...“Yes”. Then after driving for 25 minutes and arriving at 4:40, they said they were closed and couldn’t come in. Absolutely outrageous, no way am I going back.More

After a recent visit to the Dabbling Duck in Shere I was amazed to find I had been charged ( £11-33) for a Latte & one poached egg on toast!!! This is an extortionate price by anyone's standards. What I wasn't aware of & should...have known apparently is that the restaurant adds 10% to the cost of your bill for "SERVICE CHARGE"!!! Apparently it's stated on the bottom of the menu & also on the bottom of your bill, which it wasn't in my case on the bottom of my bill. Needless to say I won't be using this restaurant again, Also, one of their serving staff was trying to charge my friend for one of their free magazines!!!More

Cannot understand the rave reviews , food was ok but for us over rated & extortionate prices wine served in thick outdated glasses i suspect because I ask for a small glass as the lady in the next table had a lovely white wine glass...makes no sense. Place is full of flies really really of putting &!disgusting spent most of the time trying to waft them off our food one can say not an enjoyable experience . Save your money look elsewhere!More

Yummy Breakfast Gorgeous location and wonderful food with great service My husband and daughter and her boyfriend all enjoyed our breakfast seated in the pretty courtyard in between acer trees. It was a warm morning and the sun was trickling through the branches. Can’t wait...to go backMore

I came here with a friend a couple of days ago. We sat outside at a table in the sheltered courtyard. Our order was taken very quickly. Nice coffee. Would recommend.

Have always loved visiting this place for coffee, brunch etc!! Always such a lovely vibe and such kind staff. Today we went for brunch (3 of us) was a super busy bank holiday Sunday and we found ourselves waiting a long time for our food...to come. And in the end they ended up saying it was on them. It was very appreciated and the food was worth the wait as always. But just wanted to say a thank you for the lovely staff and the hard work, as it is a very popular spot especially for cyclists and the general public! Please be patient for for people in hospitality please!More

Arrived, sat and waited for 30 minutes to order a cup of tea. Left. Used to be great here but the last 2 visits have been the same.

Two great recent visits with completely different generations all loving it - brought son (30s) here for lunch last month, for a wonderful meal; then brought parents (90s) here this month for another superb meal. Both times the main cafe was full but the marquee...in the garden was great - warm and comfortable. Service was great. Both times we enjoyed a combination of burgers, curries pulled pork, poached eggs and guacamole on toast, and my mum had the clever soup / sandwich combo.More
