Ca Dora café is a great place for light lunch or quite bite / coffee. The atmosphere is relaxed and the service is good. We all had bowls of soup which were perfect. If I had a nigly bit to say, it would be the bread. I wish that the bread had been homemade but other that it was really... More

We called in for a cup of coffee and ended up staying for some lunch. Our first impression was the friendly welcome and the obvious cleanliness. There was a comprehensive and appetising selection of dishes on the menu, all very reasonably priced. The service was perhaps not the quickest in the world, but then I knew when our food arrived... We ate her again on a visit to Tarbert, this time we both had the Fish & Chips, this we found to be tasty and came with a small salad on the side, couple this with a pot of tea and you have a nice fish tea, the cafe itself is nicely decorated and was clean and fresh and very... More

This place offers a very good choice at lunchtime, everything from a coffee and cake, soup, sandwiches to a full meal. Have eaten here a number of times as we are fairly local to Tarbert and have never been disappointed with the food or service, cafe is very nicely appointed (clean too!) and the view is fab. Oh, it is... More

On previous visits food has been very good but this visit sadly was disappointing. The hamburger was processed meat and did not taste anything like a burger should .It cost £9.50 so I expected to get minced beef. My mother thought her fish batter was too greasy. They used to offer a prawn baugette which was nice but I could... More

Well worth a visit. One of the few open in early February - however irrespective of that the food was excellent.

Having stayed overnight in the town we looked for somewhere for a good breakfast before we set off for a day's exploration. We had the "full breakfast" and coffee, and everything was delicious. OK, there wasn't much choice at that time of day...it's the full breakfast or a selection of the breakfast items...but the freshly prepared, generous platter was happily... More

Only dropped in for a coffee but after looking at the menu decided to try their Cullen Skink. Delicious. They should offer their recipe to the Stonefield Castle chef. They have a surprisingly varied menu with dishes from Spain, Mexico, Italy etc.Wish I'd eaten dinner at the Ca Dora instead of the hotel. Well done.

CA Dora is the best place in Tarbert for a quick bite to eat brunch / lunch kind of place. Always busy even off season. Food is generally very good, highly recommend the CA Dora pasta dish which is homemade, like much of their menu. Big portions, great value for money. Really lovely decor, fitting for a fishing village. Can... More

On a trip down the Kintyre peninsular we knew that we would be at Tarbert in time for a late lunch, so we looked up the reviews and decided on Ca Dora cafe. What a good choice that was. we managed to get a window seat too from which we could see the harbour which was just across the road.... More
