About
The Bull and Heifer is a small but vibrant little country pub in the heart of the village of Bettws Cedewain, near Newtown. It's a traditional black and white public house, with oodles of character and charm, where you are sure of a warm welcome, whenever you arrive. This family pub is a recent addition to the village, yet it's hard to believe that it hasn't been 'The local' for years...

Cauliflower like rock, broccoli like mush, beef was fatty, veg was scarce and pudding was cold and dry. Was looking forward to this but it just failed completely. Not enough food either. I went home and bad a ham sandwich!!!! Very disappointing sunday lunch.

This place used to be so good what an earth has happened, food is absolutely dreadful, wine overpriced and hygiene has gone out the window. Used this place regularly wouldn't go in the place if you paid me. Such a shame.

We visited this pub while staying in Wales for the weekend and when we initially arrived it was very crowded and difficult to find a table. However, as soon as the staff realised we were waiting they cleared a table and made us feel very...More

Visited the Bull & Heifer again. It started with excellent email communications and finished with an excellent evening. Both the food and the service were excellent! A completely reliable and enjoyable restaurant to visit.

By far the best Sunday Roast within 20 miles of Newtown. The staff are very accommodating and helpful and the pub has a generally good atmosphere. The week day menu from our experience doesn't compare to the Sunday one. It is our pub of choice...More

We visited this establishment as a three generation family with different food likes/dislikes. The food choices are not extensive but more than enough to satisfy. The steaks were excellent with a brilliant blue cheese sauce and the tastiest tomatoes ever. The other meals were well...More

Visited the pub while we were in Wales for the weekend. Initial decision to try the pub was a bit random, but it turned out to be one of our best decisions! Even though we were “outsiders”, it was a busy night and we didn’t...More

Heart of the village and surrounding areas. Food so delicious you have to book in advance, although their basket meals are very lovely too.
