I am surprised and disappointed that this "review" got past the TA censors! The charming group they are referring to arrived at The Boot well before 2pm and were given menus. The kitchen were accordingly advised. The fact that we stop accepting food customers after...More

We are talking here about a busy Saturday evening. At The Boot there are 3 main-building eating options. There are the tables on the front terrace, tables in the bar area, and many well spaced tables in the restaurant. Our reviewer chose initially to sit...More

The Boot Inn is situated in the heart of the idyllic Test Valley village of Houghton in Hampshire. Warm atmosphere, supplemented by active wood-burners, exists in both the Restaurant and Bar. The property has recently benefited from a massive refurbishment and the garden, which fronts the River Test (England's most famous chalk stream), has been enhanced further by the addition of it's own kitchen and bar servery. The latter is open most afternoons and evenings, weather permitting.
