We had a fabulous 3 course lunch here. The staff were friendly and the food was wonderfully presented, tasty and hot located on the river. The recommendation came via a very helpful lady at the Bizy chateau.

Surprise visit but so pleasurable. The fish based plats du jour menu was excellent and such great value at €22 per head including wine.

The approach to the place is unusual. You are directed to drive into a dark tunnel under a low railway embankment, but when you emerge on the other side, you find yourself right on the banks of the broad river Seine, as it flows through green countryside. The reception area looks a little shabby, but the bedrooms have recently been... More

The environment around the restaurant is great, very peaceful and relaxing along the Seine river without being disturbed by cars. Service is nice, responsive and efficient, and food is delicious! They also organize many events, especially during the summer. I haven't had the chance to attend to one of them yet so I cannot say how they are. I definitely... More

We were led to believe that this would be a special place at which to eat. Unfortunately not so. The food was standard but the evening was spoiled by the presence of a disco bar next to the restaurant. I am sure that people much younger than us would find it acceptable but, when you go for dinner with your... More

This is the most beautiful spot, right on the bank of the Seine. Jumping fish, swans and ducks made the evening walk with the dogs very pleasurable, as well as plenty of local dogwalkers with whom to chat. The room was very nice, view of the river, clean and bright shower room, comfy bed and treat of treats in France,... More

Booked last minute on our way back through France touring on a motorbike. Sat nav took us straight to the door but it did take us under the railway bridge which was about 1 meter 80 so we both had to duck on the bike. No good if you are towing anything or have a higher than normal car!! It... More

The hotel is located on the bank of the Seine, an attractive main building with additional accommodation, The standard rooms are small although fairly well appointed with the addition of a kettle, tea and coffee making tray. The air conditioning only blows warm air, not good in hot weather! The larger rooms are much better and located close to the... More

This restaurant appears to be a common bistro, but it's a delight for the senses. Located about 15 miles from Giverny, it's an excellent stop after touring the Monet gardens. My delicious chicken was grilled over a fire, and the side dishes were very tasty. Service was excellent, wait staff were attentive, and everyone in my party agreed it was... More

Dear Guests, Thank you very much for your enthousiastic comment! Let me just warn you that the gates protecting the railway close at 10:30 PM. But for cars under 1,8 meters, there also is a tunnel to get to the hotel. Kind regards, Jerome Crépatte More

Located within a few minutes of the famous village of Giverny, Les Canisses exudes all the charm of the banks of the River Seine. In the summer months, you can sit on the large patio and relish local produce, to the sound of lapping water. When the high season is over, you can feast your eyes - and tastebuds - on various dishes cooked on an open fire, or grilled meats prepared in the large hearth.
