Superb. Well worth it, and a nice switch from the commercial restaurants in the village. A nice wine list too. Highly recommended .

We had dinner here in May 2024 and shared the veal stew, which was just ok, not great. Also had the foie gras which was served in an interesting way (see the photo). Had a great bottle of local red wine. A bit pricey for...the value received so can't recommend this place.More

Unfortunately the kitchen in our hotel was closed, so they suggested eating here and organised our table. Initially we thought, having wandered around town, that we might have missed out, as the town restaurants were all busy, being a French holiday, but no. A short...walk down the hill is this fantastic restaurant. Totally stylish but authentic, it produced the most amazing food, on a par with many Michelin restaurants we have eaten in previously. To be fair, he wasn’t over keen on the ‘hot foie gras’ but that was a matter of personal taste. His beef fillet was en point and excellent. My starter of prawns followed by the scallops, was heavenly. Excellent wine list too. At a shade under 200 e for 2 starters, 2 mains, 2 glasses of champagne, an excellent Luberon wine and 2 coffees, we thought that was good value for the quality offered. I should also add that the views from the terrace were stunning and the service was friendly but not effusive. Provençal cooking and service at its best and it made our trip.More

We were on a hiking trip through Provence and the town of Rousillin and found this restaurant highly rated on Trip Advisor. The restaurant did not disappoint. The special pre-fixe menu was unique, tasty and well presented. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable and the wine...recommendation was to our taste. Highly recommend!More

I made a reservation for our group of 8 two months ago. We were greeted warmly and seated immediately on the terrace and treated to incredible views of Roussillon. The food did not disappoint! We all tried different things from the set menu and everything...was superb. The service was wonderful and it was just really a magical evening. I cannot wait to return when next in the area!More

Best meal this week! This was traditional Provençal French cooking done very well. I had mushroom soup, pork confit with vegetables and a caramelized apple dessert. Would return again and again if I could. Was also a lovely restaurant inside and outside. Absolutely go here...if in the area. It’s a great deal (~30 euros for 3 courses).More

We booked a table the previous evening in person and we’re delighted there was availability, on the terrace. We arrived and were seated at a lovely table. Our orders were taken, we all ended up having the same; the prawns followed by fillet beef. The...prawns were delicious and were beautifully cooked. The steaks were all over cooked; we ordered medium rare plus 1 medium and they were all medium well. Still tender and tasty but slightly disappointing. There is no point in returning them as the restaurant was busy and we didn’t want to wait. The puddings felt a little lazy. We had a bottle of wine and a couple of beers but we weren’t asked if we wanted another bottle and we topped our own wine glasses up after the first pour. The bill was nearly 300 euros, which is fine but we left feeling a little underwhelmed. We had eaten in another restaurant in Roussillon the previous evening which was spectacular but is one place lower in trip advisor. Feels a bit unfair.More

We enjoyed a fine dinner on the back terrace at Le Piquebaure. Shrimps, foie gras toast and burrata salad (all with beautiful accompaniments) started us off very nicely. For main course the chef served a wonderful pigeon dish. The deconstructed cod was very elegantly presented...but not a universal hit. All in all — a great meal and would highly recommend.More

My attempts to book a table by messenger were read but ignored - twice. Decided to give it a second chance. We were only given one table option (by the road) - half the restaurant was empty during our visit. Food was good to average...- in fact, I can't even recall what I ate!More

Another great recommendation from our hotel, Le Piquebaure is a small little restaurant in the city center of Roussillon. With amazing food, friendly and personable service and quaint charm we were delighted with the recommendation. Had the weather been warmer, dinner on the terrace with...a view over the valley would have been great! I enjoyed the starter gourmet plate consisting of pate on toast, zucchini quiche, potato soup and small hard boiled eggs on top of what, I’m not sure! But it was sure delicious! My husband really enjoyed his butternut soup. For dinner we both ordered the Cod soufflé with zucchini and it was spectacular - not just to taste but for the eyes! Our desserts were equally as good, a chocolate ganache and a dessert with figs! Located just before the town center, parking in the evening was easy to find nearby. Reservations are recommended and we can see why!More

It is great to have Piquebaure back after a short absence, to once again take their place as the best restaurant in Roussillon. We have been a couple of times since the re-opening, and once again we have a pleasant host, excellent food and a...stunning setting. I particularly recomment the fillet steak. On our most recent visit we also had two vegetarians with us, which can be problematic in Provence, however Piquebaure rose to the challenge and left all of our party happy!More

Mid-August, the height of the season, on a very warm evening. We had reserved in advance - essential if you wish to have a table on the terrace with its superb view across the valley to the Vaucluse hills, with Mont Ventoux rising majestically behind....We had an enjoyable and tasty meal. Starters were either a group of four mini-starters or in my case a delicious chilled tomato velouté. We both had a braised beef dish which melted in the mouth - wonderful. Desserts were refreshing and perfectly adapted for a very warm evening. A tiny cup of black coffee rounded the whole thing off perfectly. Wines are predominantly Provençal / Rhône Valley, some a tad pricey but our bottle of rosé from the local Domaine de la Royère was quite simply the best rosé I have had in years. Service could not be faulted - friendly and perfectly paced despite every table being taken. With a champagne apéritif the bill came to €130 for two, good value considering the pricey but wonderful rosé. (There is an additional foie gras course for an extra 6 euros each.) So: where's the snag? It is that, on a calm evening, one couple, apparently unaware of the effect they were having on everyone else, was smoking on the terrace. The smoke drifted around the terrace and we all got the benefit at one point or another. I want to give five stars for value but alas can not in this case. However, I shall not hesitate to return to this fine restaurant.More

We enjoyed excellent food at Le Piquebaure on our recent trip to France and Italy. All 4 of us in our party are quite exacting foodies and of course both France and Italy abound with brilliant restaurants. The food, service and setting of the restaurant...are excellent and certainly deserved the recommendation of our local hostess. Roussillon is gorgeous anyway, plus we stayed at a beautiful house just out of town, and dinner at Le Piquebaure crowned our lovely stay. Fab!More
