Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great lunch off the side of the road! We turned around and went back to the parking lot after seeing all the cars parked there. Cute place. Great service! Seated us without a reservation for an early lunch. Delightful servers. Great impulse stop for a...great meal!More

This is a hidden gem! Food was original Tuscan menu and everyone was so happy and kind. Filled with locals and nothing but happiness filled the room. We have to come back there were to many things we wanted! The food was excellent we forgot...to get reservations but they fit us in anyway.More

We just happened upon this restaurant and noticed all the cars out front so thought it might be good. Little did we know how incredibly good the food and service would be. The owner personally handled our table and made recommendations for the 6 of...us. I’ve never had better Italian food. Everything was simply out of this world good. I had the pasta shell stuffed venison, something I’ve never experienced, and the recipe (which I asked for) has 60% cocoa mixed with spices and of course venison. Simply put it was an incredible experience. Find this restaurant on your way to your favorite winery, you won’t be disappointed.More

Such lovely staff. However, it was impossible to understand why this bistrot receives 5 stars (by trip advisor, who are all non professional reviewers). Those who dine here are questionably (Italian) foodies nor must they be especially discriminating. Ambiance was an interesting comgination of rough...and rustic, and quality for the price was more than disappointing.. In short, very expensive for the quality of food and ambiance. We paid 90 euros for a meal that was interesting but absolutely average. A shared starter, 2 main dishes (pork cheeks and Stuffed poultry), adding an inexpensive bottle of prosecco, and finally one lemon sorbet (which appeared to be purchased at a co-op) was far from the high end tab we paid. Staying at the Salvadonica (agrotourism near San Casciano VP) with it's high end restaurant, high end service, in a picture perfect outdoor Tuscan hill setting, with the freshest and best of ingredients we pay no more than 60 euros for a similar meal that is/was far superior.More

Beautiful restaurant with great ambiance. We were a bit group and everyone enjoyed their meals - beef tartare, zucchini flowers, truffle pasta, preposo were big hits. Pork tenderloin and gyoza were good but not great. Tiramisu 2-ways and cheesecake cannoli were great.

If you are ever in Imprunetta, Italy ( outside of Florence) please stop by and visit Aaron at Osteria Il Ciliegiolo! We were a table of 14, and when my soon-to-be father in law fell ill, the owner, Aaron put him in a car, and...drove him back to our villa— despite the fact that the restaurant was packed! When I thanked him, he said “I would hope someone would do the same for me, or my own father.” ❤️ THIS — and the food was AMAZING!!! We need to be more like Aaron! 🇮🇹‼️More

We chose this place on our way out of Florence down into Tuscany as an out-of-the-way place to have lunch. It was an awesome experience . The owner, Aaron, waited on us and was fantastic and so positive in every respect. The venison was the...best entree but the gnocchi was a close 2nd. It was clearly a favorite for locals so it was great to experience this special dining experience out of the tourist circuit.More

This dining experience was the perfect way to start our family Tuscan week. We couldn’t get into any of the restaurants in San Casciano in Val di Pesa and a local bartender, Louisa, set us up here. What a gem to have met here ended...up here. They welcomed our family with open arms and just made the experience all the better by allowing us to laugh and enjoy each other so much. We were there for 4 hours. Thanks so much to staff there and the deliciousness of everything. If you want a laid back enjoyable Tuscan dining experience I highly recommend it here. Ciao and enjoy!More

This restaurant is an excellent choice. It's located about a 20-minute drive from Florence. We were staying in Impruneta and wanted to eat in the town and are so happy we did. The owner is very friendly and speaks perfect English, since he lived in...Brooklyn for 6 years. The restaurant has a cute, casual appearance, but the food is really fine-dining level. We shared several appetizers and the classic florentine steak. The portions were generous for all 3 in our party and really delicious. The owner also recommended a great botttle of local red wine that went perfectly with the meal. Grazie!More

We arranged to meet a friend here for lunch as it's in a convenient location and there's plenty of parking. The restaurant itself is very nicely decorated and the gentleman serving us was really friendly. The food is outstanding - we loved the pate starter...and the Vin Santo risotto was out of this world.More

I (American) recently went to Il Ciliegiolo with my partner's family (Italian, living in Tuscany) and we had such a lovely meal! It's very clear that the owners are extremely passionate about what they're making, and it comes out in the food and overall dining...experience. I love that there are both traditional items, in addition to creative dishes which play on local cuisine (such as ragu- dumplings- yum!). HIGHLY recommend the beef carpaccio with porcini mushrooms, and pici pasta with duck ragu- you won't regret it! They even had a particular amaro (after dinner liqueur) that really stood out. Amazing owners, staff, location, and of course- Tuscan food!More

Our first night in our rented villa we had the pleasure and incredible luck to find this gem of a restaurant! Our family of 6 sat down to a warm welcome. We let our waiter, one of the owners pick out our meals family style....We started with a three tiered meat and cheese platter that not only looked like a master piece but was delicious! one dish was better than the next with pasta's, turkey dish that was to die for and steak that melts in your mouth. We love to travel and always seeks out the best listed restaurants in the world according to Food and Wine and Bon Appetit. I can honestly say this is one of the best restaurants I have ever dined at in all my travels. The atmosphere is warm and charming, the staff and owners are absolutely wonderful!!! and the wine and meal is unforgettable. We loved it so much we went back our last night in Impruneta. Our entire family loved the staff, the food and wine so much it was voted our favorite dining experience while traveling through Italy. A must for all lucky enough to be in the area. Leave room for the incredible desserts. ,More
