We went in about 2pm and there weren't many people eating and there seemed to be plenty of staff on. We ordered burger and chips and this came fairly quickly. The mayo we were given was empty and I had to catch the attention of the waitress while she served another table. She came back with a full one and... More

Matlock Bath was rammed full of people, and as you can expect at around lunch time, virtually all the cafes and restaurants were all full. Except this pub. The only reason why we went in is because my kids were pestering me so much about being hungry. I ordered a Guinness, diet coke, and 2 normal cokes. It took the... More

FALSE REVIEW !!! Hi There, To be honest I don't even know why I am replying to your FALSE review, I should just get Trip advisor to remove it, but as you have found the time to write something that never happened, it gives me a great opportunity to let our REAL (new and old) customers into the life at... Matlock bath has more than its fair share of eateries (mainly fish & chips), so we had plenty of places to choose. We settled for this pub because it had a good variety in its menu and looked popular. We ordered a shared starter (nachos to share with chilli) which was huge, perfectly spiced and delicious. Nothing skimped - generous... More

Walked from Matlock to Matlock bath looking for somewhere nice to eat as most of the cafes were fish and chips . Found the fishpond and ordered a pizza and hubby ordered a pulled pork burger. Cost was around 30 including drinks . Pizza was huge and far too much for me it was also a little burnt underneath hubby... More

The Fishpond looks quite deceiving from the outside. Larger than I thought. Not 100% sure on the eating areas. Dog in the bar, which is a bit off putting but overall the food was excellent. I had a veggie burger which is the best I've ever had. My friends had pizza and steaks which they enjoyed

Friendly service, we rang and booked on the phone 30 mins before and our table was ready for us. Food was nice and came quickly. Would have been 5 stars but they wouldn't put first drink on a tab without leaving them a card behind the bar - this seems very old fashioned, couldn't they have scanned it? We had... More

Hi There, and thank you for your review. We do put drinks on a tab if you are dining inside and you tell us that you intend to dine when ordering. The only exception to this is if you are dining outside, where we do not operate tabs and require full payment upon ordering. Most card payment devices don't allow... More

As a local we will often stop by for a pint and a bite to eat. They sell local ales, food and bread! The pub has a music venue attached and often has great music, bands and solo performers offering a wide range of music. The interior is cosy but with a modern twist. We have always found the staff... We visited Matlock Bath by train and decided to return to the Fishpond after many years for lunch. It has had a refurbishment since we were last there and looks very modern. The fish outside kept our son entertained and there's also plenty of outside seating too. The food and drink options were good and we all settled on fish... More

Called in not knowing what to expect and had a couple of excellent meals. In fact the home made pie was one of the best ever and my wife really enjoyed her pizza. Service was very good. This was about six o'clock on a week day. Looks like there is a lot of live music at the weekends.
