Please consider that prices displayed aren't what you might pay inside. I was also concerned about the quality of the food. It was a bit tasteless to be honest
Booked a night at the Balti with friends having passed so many times and always saying we must go. Had a Korma which was very pale, bland and pretty much tasteless. I know it’s not the most flavoursome of dishes but I’ve had tastier ready...meals tbh. Also had chicken tandoori which normally comes sizzling on a skillet but this just arrived on a plate with bagged salad and the tiniest piece of lemon. It was ok but with not much change out of £140 for the 4 of us (we only had 2 beers each and no starters just a couple of poppadoms and 1 pickle tray and 1 lot of rice) very overpriced for a pretty bland meal. Even though it’s our local curry house won’t be back.More
We bought so many curries from the Balti prior to moving to the US in 2006 that when we moved back I could still remember the number. Sadly we didn't move back to Derbyshire so going wasn't possible. A trip to see family in November...2021 did allow us to visit. The meal was ok, but nothing like it used to be and the service was terrible. I was back up this weekend and booked a table for myself and 3 mates. I had presumed/hoped that the last visit was a blip, but this time it was even worse. I had the special Balti (medium heat) and the only thing special about it was the price. If I'd been blindfolded I'd honestly not have known I was eating a curry, not even a mild one, it was more like a stew. And some of the lamb was chewy. We all said that it really was no better than buying one from Marks & Spencers and ththowing it in the microwave.More

Really busy, so you need to book in advance. Excellent service and food. Highly recommended and I will return when I’m next in the area.
We had travelled up from Leicester for a day out and stopover, hadn’t eaten before when it was next door, and it hasn’t changed, simply beautiful food, outstanding service, and the ambience is spot on, will be back when back in Matlock. We have plenty...of Indian restaurants in Leicester, and this compares to the best!More
This placed served me and my missus two of the best curries we have ever had! One of which was made to order after my wife didn't see her favourite curry on the menu. No faults whatsoever!
King Prawn Karahi tonight with pilau rice. I can honestly say this was the best curry I've had for a very long time. Excellent. !
My wife ordered a surprise curry for us both tonight to enjoy, however both nan breads were burnt and like charcoal underneath. Then onto the mains, one was a korma and the other a chicken tikka masala. Not that you'd have known as both tasted...as bland as each other with diced chicken that tasted of no flavour or spice but water and verg processed. The sauces were extremely runny and tastless and very paste like as if re heated for the order. Asbolute waste of nearly £30, should be ashamed to be serving such rubbish to customers and claim it to be authentic cuisine.More
