This was our 4th visit to Kota Kai, we decided to go for Sunday Lunch. The food was very good as was the pleasant service, however, if you are looking for a relaxing Sunday Lunch this would not be the place to go. It was very busy and very noisy, which was ok, but there was a children's party going... More

I would say this is one of the best restaurants in Porthleven. We have been here a couple of times now and can safely say that food is consistent in quality and very tasty. Can definitely recommend the curry or the chicken satay burger! Can't wait to come back again!

Came here for the last supper of our holiday. Friendly staff. Service a bit slow but we're on holiday so hey ho! Menu a bit random/worldly for Porthleven. Would have been good to have more fish options on the menu given that we were in a Cornish fishing village. We did have a lovely visit though.

Excellent food, and nice atmosphere. Battered halloumi was light and tasty, burger was delicious, cheese soufflé was perfect. Drinks took a while but only one person on bar and making cocktails etc. Price was reasonable for quality of food. Unfortunately, the waitress missed one of our orders, which was not a huge issue. We were a bit indecisive! Sadly we... More

I am lucky enough to be a local, and have eaten here for lunch on several occasions. The crab sandwich is beautiful, and so is the squid as a starter. Great staff, and the view cant't be beaten.

We enjoyed the mulled cider, TomYum soup, Thai mussels, and Tempura fish burger. Our 21 month old loved the Massaman curry from the kids menu.

We've visited this restaurant several times before and it's still excellent. We went for Sunday roast and it was delicious.

Went for Sunday lunch, it was absolutely delicious. On holiday, started with cocktails a Kai Mojito and a Kai Fizz - perfect a starter of Tom Yum Broth then roast beef followed by a orange and rhubarb posset & an afrigato. All were wonderful. The service was friendly and professional. Only downside is they are busy with private bookings on... More

Description
Kota Kai occupies the whole of the top floor of Celtic House and has unbeatable views across Porthleven harbour and beyond. Almost every table in the restaurant benefits from these views as the tables run alongside the many windows at the front of the building. The food is simpler than at Kota (our big sister restaurant), but all great quality using local ingredients and there is a fantastic variety of dishes including oysters, mussels, steak, burger and Asian dishes. We also have a selection of 'mini Kai', i.e. small plates such as salt & pepper squid, beef carpaccio, ham & cheese croquettes and mini fishcakes.
