Visited the blue hut twice in our time at Devon, it was so delicious!
The Blue Hut is a small food hut on the Back Beach in Shaldon, it serves AMAZING seafood options at fantastic prices! The staff we met were lovely and very helpful.
The battered Hake is the most amazing battered fish I've ever had! It's served with a generous serving of chips, salad and a DELICIOUS tartare sauce!
If you're in the area, it is THE place to be for Seafood and if you want Fish and Chips on the beach, it's truly a lovely place for grub...
I just wish we could've brought them back to the North East with us!

Being in the 'sandwich' business I know how hard it is to make a perfect sandwich - that great first bite, the perfect mix of taste, texture and even temperature produce an increadibly satisfying combination. Well this tiny tiny space has it nailed down - the perfect sandwich (or in this case a wrap).
Really brilliant made and so impressively effortless in perfect execution down to a rubber band to hold the greaseproof paper in place for a takeaway... I am in awe.
Seek it out...You will not be disappointed.

We stayed in Teignmouth for a weekend and ended up having 3 meals at The Blue Hut!! We had the Cajun Chicken Wrap with added Halloumi on Friday night…OMG insanely delicious - so we had to end our weekend with another one before we started our long journey back! Saturday morning we headed down to them for breakfast and ordered the Mexican Breakfast Burrito, with flavours that blow your mind and fuel your tummy for the rest of the day. The staff are utterly delightful from the lovely ladies and young boy serving to the very cheery talented chefs. It is a total must if you are in Teignmouth or even in Shalden (get the ferry over only £1.60 each way) and treat yourself.
I can’t believe the person who wrote the nasty review below as the staff went out of their way to be kind and helpful - as they said, tell them at the time if you are not happy (you won’t be unhappy) rather than hiding on here to complain.
I don’t often write reviews but these guys are AWESOME and deserve the recognition!

Looking at all the fab reviews I’m sorry but I did not find my sandwich value for money
Yes Teignmouth back beach I was on my own and thought I would try as never used before £8.50 for a crab sandwich
Two pieces of normal brown bread, spread and crab. That was it not sure what else I was expecting just a small salad on side would of cheered this dull looking snack
Poor decision from myself. I would not be ordering this again

I’m really sorry you feel ripped off, hand picked un pasteurised crab meat is very expensive. We are a simple beach kiosk so salad garnish isn’t really our thing. I would have hoped you’d come and mention your feelings so we could rectify the situation rather than leave a negative review on an important forum for us to find new customers. Again, really sorry you left unhappy.

Excellent Street Food from The Blue Hut at the Back/River beach in Teignmouth.
Greek Souvlaki pork kebab in a homemade Pitta bread was freshly cooked in front of us with a Cajun Chicken wrap. Both were packed with flavor, well presented and good value for money.
Don't miss this place if you visit Teignmouth ***** 5 Star Interesting homemade food

These guys have absolutely nailed reasonably priced street food but it’s so delicious it blows your mind. The bao bun was one of the best things I have ever eaten. My son is addicted to kimchi and raved about the pulled pork burger with kimchi. Round of applause guys. Amazing.

We were visiting Teignmouth and came across the area of the RNLI, after a bit of umming and aahing amongst the nearby eateries we both had a cajun wrap. I went for the less spicy version which was perfect. The wraps are very substantial, full to the brim and really tasteful. The chef and his lovely assistant were soooo very friendly and helpful. Outstanding food and service. Thankyou.

Most people when they go to Teignmouth just walk along the seafront. Next time you visit park in the point carpark and go and explore the back beach. First go and place your order for some amazing freshly cooked street food at The Blue Hut. Can’t recommend the chicken cajun wrap enough, delicious!
Eat your lunch sat on the back beach watching the world go by and the hub of activity that goes on their by the locals enjoying living by the sea.
Make sure you go back to the Blue Hut for one of their great coffees and exceptional sweet treats, we had a lovely homemade millionaires shortbread and an amaretti biscuit which was to die for.
I’m glad Im a local so can go here often.

If you want really good food or coffee this is a winner!
I go daily for my coffee and get food every now and then, never had a bad meal.
Coffee is really good, definitely my top 3 places to get coffee in Teignmouth.
Food menu is also really good with decent portions, the cajun chicken is the one that will fill you up along with the falafel wrap, which is all made in house.
Bou buns are soft and filled with pure amazingness. 2 or 3 will fill you up but because they are so moorish a 4th wouldn’t be hard to get down.
Either pork belly or venison which I believe is locally sourced. Also halloumi (not tried halloumi yet). You will not find an authentic Vietnamese dish like this in without a long car journey and Dan (chef/owner) has got this one spot on hitting the flavour profiles and textures you would expect from a bou bun.
Burgers are a bit special too. Had various ones since I’ve been coming here, beef or venison and they all hit the spot.
No frozen crap served up here. In saying that I have never had the chips but I here they a good too.
Situated just off the beach and a perfect setting to eat or drink all of the above.
Staff are super friendly and always very accommodating.
Seriously have nothing bad to say about this place. Consistent 10/10 from me.
If your within 10 miles of here and want good honest food served with a smile and the perfect backdrop of the sea, dartmoor can be seen on a good day, you must try it.
Thank you to all at Blue hut for making my days on the beach more enjoyable.

Absolutely faultless! Food is freshly made and delicious. We have visited multiple times over our holiday.
Our last visit today, we went a little later in the day and had a 30 minute wait (we were informed of this when ordering) and they offered to call us when food was ready if we wanted to take a stroll. Instead we sat and had coffee (coffee is great too!). As per, it was worth the short wait for the delicious freshly made food.
Daily specials, lots of variety and the staff are so friendly & helpful.

Heard the Cajun chicken wraps are excellent so as we was nearby decided to try them out, also had halloumi fries, a kids sausage and chips meal and a kids chicken nuggets meal and some drinks. All the food was cooked freshly to order and was full of flavour. Would definitely recommend

Popped to this wonderful spot one morning and had the bacon rolls which were absolutely delicious with the house’s special sauce.
Got talking to a few local’s who said next time we should try the breakfast burrito which would be a first for us. A few days later we put them to the test, the local’s know their stuff, fantastic.
On our last day we had a lunch of Cajun chicken wrap’s, which the staff were very careful to give us the correct levels of spiciness as we had differing tastes, all agreed, absolutely outstanding.
All staff were lovely, very knowledgeable about their menu and we felt the food was great value as obviously everything on the menu is freshly prepared. My only complaint is that they are hundreds of miles from my regular stomping ground.
Hoping to return in the not too distant future.
Wishing you continued success.

Please please visit this place it’s near the lifeboat station so make sure you hunt it out.
The kids had Halloumi and sausages,I had the phillisteak sandwich and the Mrs had the breakfast burrito vegetarian style.
We have been here for two weeks and have eaten out everyday,this place hands down is the best of the lot.
So glad we found this place but gutted we found it so late in the holiday

Dan and crew make the best coffee in Teignmouth and truly delicious, inventive and freshly cooked food. The Mexican Burger I had today was honestly one of the best burgers I have ever had, eaten with a view to die for. Not the cheapest place to eat in the area but you get what you pay for, the queues at peak times speak for themselves.

Had an amazing gluten free salad from the hut today - Cajun chicken (attached photo). I told them I was gluten free, and they were more than helpful with providing options of what I could have. Would thoroughly recommend!!
