Absolutely superb... a mixed meat and cheese platter for 5... served with excellent wines, great humour and a lovely intimate atmosphere... Toby was informative and great company as our host.. A great surprise from our daughter was a superb selection of English cheeses delivered to Braughing from Buntingford - an absolute delight.

Had an absolutely brilliant evening at The Cheese Plate, cannot recommend them enough for their cheese and wine events! We booked a private event for a group of ten and had such a great laugh, ate some delicious cheese and drank beautiful wine. Cheesus has been born again! All hail Cheeus king of the ewes! I was recommended The Cheese Plate by my crazy jamaican friend, I rarely take his advice because Emmental. I was hosting a wine and cheese night as part of our annual Christmas festivicheese,...Ok no more cheese puns! - I'll brie more serious because I camembert it any more, and then had cheese to supply for our family Christmas. I was a late in my organising but Hope at The Cheese Plate came to the rescue and put together a beautiful and varied spread with some perfect pairing advice. We had to mail order as live in Brighton, cheese arrived well packed and on-time. I'm now thinking for my next holiday Buntingford could be this Pilgrim's Choice. Communication from Hope was great throughout. What a great evening - Toby makes the whole event entertaining and informative, and gets all there involved with both the cheeses & wine, as well as chatting to the other guests who were previously strangers. This has become something of a regular event for...us. Really can't recommend it enough! (And ignore anyone who says there is not enough cheese and/or wine - if anything, there is too much!)More

We recently visited the cheese plate with friends for a bespoke cheese & wine party. There was just 8 of us and our superb host Toby and his lovely assistant. The Cheese and wine were superb, we enjoyed 5 courses of different cheeses matched perfectly...with different wines. Toby was a great host explaining briefly the legacy of the cheese and wine added with knowledge, perfectly professional and great humour.More

Eight of us visited last night for a 2nd time (as we enjoyed the 1st so much) with Toby as our host. As usual Toby was jovial and informative about the wines and cheeses. The atmosphere was excellent as was the fare. These evenings are...tasters and that is exactly what you get, with a private sitting in a cosy atmosphere. Similarly to GPS2014, I have been a regular at The Cheese Plate for some time and this too was my first Cheese & Wine Tasting Evening. We were at the same night with GPS2014, but I couldn’t disagree more with his comments - we had...such a great evening. Lovely cheese in good sized portions, tasty wine to accompany & even an ice cider to match a blue! Have used this shop for quite some time and their cheese selection is first class. So went for one of their tasting evenings of cheese and matched wines. What a disappointment. A selection of various hard cheeses with just one soft cheese to finish. Nothing...runny, nothing smelly, nothing unusual. Which was so strange given the stuff they sell on a day to day basis. Add to that, it really was tasters, just thin slivers. Nothing you could really get stuck into. The wine selection was OK, and some quite nice choices, but I was expecting something with a wow factor in both cheese and wine and neither delivered. Could not recommend it.More

We worked with this local store to supply our wedding cake - instead of a traditional cake we had a stack of cheese wheels, beautifully decorated with fruit. The "cake" itself was a big attraction on the day, and it made for lovely evening food...at our event. The cheese itself was absolutely delicious. The store has a wide range of cheeses available, both local to England and international, so we were not short of choice. We needed some cheddars, hard cheese to support the base of the cake and some soft cheeses for the higher tiers. I reached out to the store and worked directly with Hope, who was such a pleasure to work with. As we weren't able to go into the store for a tasting, she sent us a bunch of samples (at no additional cost) so we could make our decision. Through the entire process she was kind and thoughtful: on our wedding day she delivered the cheese herself and saved us delivery costs, as the venue was really close to her house. We are so utterly pleased both with the service and the quality of the products that The Cheese Plate Buntingford provided. We would highly recommend them to anyone, whether buying a wheel of brie, or a whole "cake" :)More
