Called at Bannisters for lunch today. Packed out, but they found us a table. We had an excellent lunch, first class service. All the staff worked really hard to ensure dinners have a good experience. This is backed up by a good choice of food. Despite how busy they were you are not rushed.

An oasis of calm in the mad dash of shopping. Food expertly prepared, quickly served, but you never feel rushed.

Bannisters is a restaurant within Boundary Mill Stores. I would normally avoid eating a meal in a department store 'café', but this is different. It is simple, unfussy, efficient. We were greeted at the door, shown to our seats, our order taken and drinks and food delivered swiftly. Not too swiftly as my haddock and chips and wife's fish cakes... More

My two friends and i are regular visitors over the past few years on our shopping trip. On this occasion we found the bread rolls with the soup very hard and chilled. The service from junior staff was very good and friendly. After out meal i made a comment to a senior staff member about the bread and rather than... More

Called in for lunch while visiting boundary mill. Very nice food if a little on the small side for the price. I had the baked salmon which was very tasty. My husband had the trio of sausages which he said was 'ok'. I think the tables for two are a bit too close together. Needs a different room layout I... More

Thought we'd pop over to Boundary Mill to do some shopping and decided to eat lunch here first. My wife enjoyed home made three cheese and onion pie with mashed potatoes and cabbage melody. I decided to have the roasted loin of pork dinner. Both were very enjoyable with a nice pot of tea for two. Excellent service. We had... More

We have eaten here several times and it is always a waiting game and staff rushing. It is busy and alive which is great but let down by the staff not all but most.Sorry its a shame as it is avoidable.

Our experience was there could have been more food, particularly as it is not cheap. However, the food was nicely cooked.
