I came to the squirrel to eat with my wife, and we wasnt disappointed. Delicious food and good valve for money. The outside area was beautiful and inviting, I will be dinning here again. 5 stars from us.

A group of friends and I were out for a walk on Monday 18th April and stopped at the Squirrel for a drink in the garden. I paid cash as their card machine was not working. I then ordered, from the bar menu, two Bacon...& Brie Baguettes and an Egg & Bacon Sandwich which according to the menu came with “skin on chips and garnished with salad”. Once again I paid by cash and told the bar man that we were sitting in the garden. After an exceptionally long wait I asked where our food was and was told that it was on its way and that they were busy! After waiting over an hour and speaking to other members of staff the food eventually arrived (no apology for the delay). My chips were cold and none of the food came with the salad garnish as per the menu. A friend, who was still waiting for his food to arrive complained to a waitress who said it was nothing to do with her, she just delivered the orders to the tables. In all we were over two hours sitting in the garden which meant that we had to cut our walk short due to other commitments At no time did anybody come out to see us to apologise for the time we were kept waiting or indeed to see if when we did get our food if it was alright. I would not recommend this place to anybody and in my opinion it has to be the worst experience possible. I would have thought that pubs would bend over backwards to offer good food and quick service after the Covid lockdowns to get customers to return but obviously not the Squirrel.More
Went for lunch. The pub claims to have vegan options (note the plural). On reading the menus could not see any vegan options. Asked one of the servers if any dish could be made vegan she looked very unimpressed, found the main course menu and...and said the penne arrabiata could be made vegan. We also noticed a mushroom risotto which said vegan option available. On going to order it was clear those serving were not aware of what the penne dish consisted of and whether it was actually vegan, so checking had to be done. All round a poor experience - food ok and expensive, but service dreadful. Site makes misleading claims re vegan options. If plant based avoid this pub for food.More
my sister, Ginny, and I were lucky enough to hold a perfect wake for our much-adored and party-loving mum at the squirrel Inn on 28th January 2022 the team's organisation on the day was a masterpiece of professionalism (both in the kitchen and in the...restaurant and bar). all our guests remarked how excellent the service was and the food was ( we had asked the chef to propose for us a menu of easy-to-eat 'finger food'- it was exactly what we needed, and delicious as well!). the Inn itself is attractive inside and the atmosphere is welcoming and cosy. note the ground-floor accommodation in the Inn's pretty little cottages next to their two carparks. (and note, also, their plentiful carparking ) my family and I have been going to this inn ever since my parents moved from London to Milford in the 1960's. I can't recommend this place enough (note the management and the team is brand new, as of, roughly, November 2021,gratefully Liz ReidMore
I have always had amazing food since this establishment has been taken over and today was no different. Unfortunately a group of people came in and for absolutely no reason kicked off! If going out as a party of 12 wanting a 3 course meal...don’t expect a 2 hour turn around. They behaved terribly towards the lovely staff and I am embarrassed to be British on this occasion when they were very rude to staff and required separate bills. Well done guys for handling it so so well xxMore
We went to the Squirrel for a 40th birthday celebration lunch on Sunday in the conservatory. It was lovely to have our own space, the food was incredible and we were well looked after by Sarah and her team. Our guests enjoyed the meal and...all commented how delicious the food was. Thankyou, we would recommend this venue .More
Have not been for some time and did not disappoint, charming staff friendly efficient and knowledgeable. Sea bass with white wine sauce sublime, puddings good but not homemade which was a shame after such an amazing main course. Little chilly but better that and well...ventilated so felt safe. Will watch with interest changes to come but this is a chef to try fabulousMore
We decided to go back to The Squirrel as we’d heard it has new owners and were not disappointed, great food and service, we’ll definitely return and spread the word about this lovely pub.
We have visited this pub before and enjoyed the friendly and warm welcome, atmosphere and food but our recent vist was anything but warm and welcoming, The atmosphere was cold, the place was cold, the waitress was a nervous wreck and the food horrible.
This is a very attractive venue - we enjoyed a meal with family. The food is British and it was well presented with a good range of dishes. Service was friendly and punctual. Highly recommended, this is a lovely place with very attentive and pleasant...staff. There is also a real log fire!More
