We stopped here for a brief visit while walking over to the Brough. Lovely home made burgers at a great price. The owners are very pleasant people and do a great job.

Simple snacks, but very welcome in a land with so few cafes. Burger van fare, but happy to knock me up a veggie alternative

When all the restaurants are full we resorted to a van. We had a steak roll which was all it promised to be.

Normally you'd rather unwrap your own sandwiches when you see such a van at a tourist's place. But this is totally different: you won't get fast food, you get street food at it's best. The burgers are made from real Orkney Beef which is one of the best I ever had. Nothing is kept warm, all is mede freshly –... More

When you walk in this climate you get blasted and the snack van at Birsay Point is a little oasis of hot tea coffee hot chocolate and a bacon roll or a burger to warm the body.

The Orkneys are beautiful but sometimes people forget you need coffee and a snack whilst enjoying the views. My wife and I had a great coffee and cake from matt's van. We sat on a bench looking over the broch, very content indeed

All the food is freshly cooked to order. Great value in a stunning location. Can definitely recommend the sausage roll and cheeseburger. Cakes are pretty good if you've still got some room left. Hoping he extends his opening hours, especially for the winter months.

We tried to get into the Birsay tearoom and failed so went to the snack van, Ok there is not a huge choice especially if you are not a meat eater but the bacon butties and beefburgers are excellent. the Rocky Road was excellent was a dark chocolate layer which makes it special. The downside is that the van finishes... More

Matt's snack van is most definitely worth a visit if you're a tourist or a local. The burgers are great quality and incredibly reasonably priced, and the menu seems to be continually increasing as Matt introduces new things, most recently a lamb burger. Be prepared for a queue on a sunny day when the brough is at its busiest, though... More
