The kind of place you hope to find but don't often. Excellent food - loved the whitebait - genuine welcome and relaxed atmosphere. Thanks.

This unassuming bistro set in the most stunning location on the West Coast of Scotland offered a warm welcome, comfortable environment, professional but friendly atmosphere with superb fresh, quality and well presented produce. Highly recommended. Very refreshing to happen-stance upon this wee gem. Please visit if you love quality eating experiences.

Four of us had supper there in September. Food was excellent and friendly efficient service. Enjoyed reading the Oor Wullie annuals and trying to get my three English friends to pronounce Oor Wullie correctly!

Quite difficult to find out about opening times for this place. Website not working and difficult to get a reliable mobile connection where we stayed. Turned up on spec on Wednesday lunchtime. Disappointed to find the place closed.

On our recent trip to Scotland we enjoyed some of the best seafood we've had anywhere, but the Lochcarron Bistro was something else again. The choice was much greater than you'd expect in a small village, and everything was cooked to perfection. The fish was perfectly fresh and thoughtfully prepared. The wine list was also very nice, and the service... More

Service was excellent, food poor for standard expected. Both meals were the same, Sirloin steak was bland, chips were soggy with oil as were the battered onion rings, plate was warm around the edges cold in the middle. Very dissapointed.

Restaurants in more remote, but popular, locations are often a bit lazy with menus and service, given their captive audience. This bistro makes a good effort with both - well worth it.

This certainly lives up to the bistro name; chalkboard menu, wood floor and scrubbed wood tables. The service is friendly and informal ... and then you get to the food. A chowder starter was a brimming bowl of creamy, tasty chowder chock-full of large chunks of fresh fish. Delicious! Too delicious, in fact!! Having eaten that, all I could do... More
