Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I have been to The Saracens Head on many occasions over the years and the food and service has always been good.. alas no longer. The food was truly awful and ludicrously expensive for what they are currently offering. I rejected the fish and chips...as it was pretty much inedible ... the replacement curry was just as bad. They clearly don't bother employing a chef anymore. AVOID!More

Nice atmosphere but my chicken burger was very disappointing. Alot of batter and barley any chicken, and chips were very fatty. Partners pork belly was nice. Manager reluctantly gave me half the cost back but was not apologetic. Disappointed as this place came highly recommend.

Food was stunning , I had the burger! The views were even more beautiful, we sat out on the terrace and the bar area is dog friendly so you can take furry friends🐾Only thing I want happy with is we were told we had 10...mins to order before a big party came. Surely a pub can cater for everyone regardless?More

Stopped off for a pint (no food). Lovely location. Parking a nightmare during tourist season and a REALLY expensive car park, £5! If the parking tickets weren’t as expensive, would go again, but felt ripped off at paying a fee that resembles a South East...hourly rate.More

We had a lovely lunch here after a wet walk. There were open fires going which was perfect for drying our soggy coats. My daughter had fish and chips from the children’s menu which she enjoyed and the faggots were delicious. Good baby change facilities...and friendly staff. Perfect pit stop for us.More

Had lunch here 2 weeks ago. Had a sirloin steak which was not good at all! Very disappointed with quality of meat as very difficult to cut even worse to chew (ordrred med rare so not over cooked) was very sinewy. Complained to staff that...wasn’t able to eat and taking home for my dog just apologised and said would tell kitchen. Charged full price for a meal that was not edible. Very disappointed. Will not be returning. Sad as a gorgeous setting.More

Took my 93 year old mother for a drive and lunch. The pub / restaurant wasn't busy midweek in January so access parking was easy. I guess that that will change later in the year! Staff were welcoming relaxed but attentive. Cannot fault the service....My mother had a child's portion of the pappardelle bolognese which was generous and delicious as were the fish and chips and burger. The burger was freshly prepared and was steak shredded. All tasted delicious. I don't understand the few criticisms around price. I've paid more for much lower quality - for me it was good value for money.More

What a wonderful place, 8 of us stayed 2 nights and had dinners and breakfast. Everything was great and especially staff, all were very good but the tall barman (we think hes called simon) was just incredible, from minute we arrived nothing was too much...trouble for him and we definitely will be back. Keep up the great work.More

There wasn’t any dogs there at the time of my visit , however I think they have an area that you can take them if they are well behaved & restrained. I’d say ring ahead & check .
