Excellent soup, we came back for more, but the service was poor. It really needs to improve if it want's to be a serious contender.

We had spent the morning walking around Newtonmore and popped in here for a bite to eat, we received a warm welcome, I had soup of the day which was enjoyable, the wife had a sandwich which was lovely and fresh. This is a old styled cafe full of character and charm.

I called in for a bowl of soup and a roll. The soup arrived reasonably quickly. Although described as minestrone there was no tomato, but it was thick and tasty with plenty of vegetables. I would have preferred a wholemeal roll rather than a white one. The solitary staff member was friendly and chatty.

Definitely a throw back to earlier times, quaint and all the better for being so. Homemade soups that are really tasty, simple sandwiches/ toasties, mince and tatties, scotch pies with gravy, homemade scones and tablet, every time someone orders tea/coffee, you hear the kettle getting switched on, mix and match tea cups and saucers but matching mugs, yes it does... Called in here for a light snack but stayed only for a pot of tea. Server and whole place looked rather grimy and smelt like an old chip pan. A shame, as Newtonmore needs a few more decent eateries.

Had a very nice lunch here. Good food, well cooked. I had the vegetable hotpot and enjoyed it very much. The menu was good, there were a few specials on offer and they have a nice line in traditional sweets as well .. we went for the sherbert lemons.

We have stopped here twice on our drives to Inverness, well cared for by Lynn MacIntosh. It seems a nice break on the way to Inverness. Pleasant tea and scones, plus interesting articles posted. Seems Mrs. MacIntosh was threatened a couple of years ago by an officious person claiming EU authority. The EU-er because her shop used a scale in... More

Called here on a break from the tedium of a drive up the A9. Very dated cafe like most of Newtonmore hanging on after being bypassed by the road north. Decent bacon roll and tea the new crockery please!

I wish we had just walked out. Good cup of tea but the whole premises need pressure washing. The pot of tea was good but the pot needed washing as it was sticky on the outside. The salt pot on the table was revoltingly mucky. Do the owners never visit other tea rooms? NO TOILET. Cash only. 2 stars just.
